Because it's genius. And it's a tenner. And it has the best physics model you'll ever see. And these are PROPER cars. I mean, buy the game. Step into the 1967 Ferrari 312. At the nordschliefe. Turn the volume way up. And NOW tell me what you think!!

If you have played any of the Grand Prix or TOCA touring car games and you thought they were good, well...... GPL is 1000 times better than both of them put together. It is as close as you can get to driving a real race car.
The physics model is so good that if you change the spring rate by the smallest amount it makes a big difference to the handling of the sim. The physics engine is used in the NASCAR 3 onwards games it is that good. Where else can you drive proper tracks (and there are 100's of them), against someone in the opposite corner of the world, in one of the 100's of races online. The closest any game (GP, TOCA) has come to it is the ones released this year and this year only, not bad for a 4/5 year old sim. Buy it now it one game any serious motorsport fan/driver/person must own: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...700029-3508662 |

WARNING: I've got GPLegends, but I've also got a 233 processor. And the game is basically unplayable. But if your computer is better than mine (as is likely), the physics model is superb. The game is very, very good.

£4.99 in some of our local bargain bins. Absolute sacrilege. There's no point trying to describe it to you, Tom. If you've tried it (subject to having a decent spec pc), you'll know how good it is. If you haven't tried it - you won't. But at less than a tenner whichever way you look at it, it's an essential purchase. |

You shouldnt... its a game about Motor Racing - and given this comment in the thread about Jag F1 from yourself "I dont particularly fancy America being promoted in this sport. They have CART" you wouldnt appreciate the subtleties of a game like GPL.

hard...very hard with all the driving aids (3 of em') turned off but very fun during a few opposite lock moments around Spa but who gives a damn?! NO-ONE...foot to the floor opposite lock, who gives a damn if you die - you'll look good whilst doing it.
fantastic game, trumendous learning curve but very rewarding once you start to find your feet and possibly finish a race. one last point - it'll give you a chance to find out what a REAL grand prix track is... |

Nobody should bother downloading the demo. You can only run at Watkins Glen and the demo has some rather strange quirks to it and can't be customised. Buy the full program - for goodness sake, the best tenner (if that) you'll ever spend on a game......
.....and then persevere. For a few weeks (yes, I did say weeks) you'll want to rip the CD out of your drive and chuck it in the bin. It may take you that long to accomplish one clean lap of, say, Monza, in the Grand Prix car with no aids and no spins! After a bit longer, you'll suddenly find you are begnning to get to grips with it. I've been playing it off and on (now very much back on) for 3-4 years. It is, without question, the best racing simulation. |

If you want the most realistic racing sim ever made, then you want this!
If you want an arcade sim or one that's made to be 'fun' to drive, don't buy this. Although if you enjoy racing a realisitic car and take pleasure in driving, it will be more fun than any other racing sim. |

it's definately a commitment and well worth the challenge. i found using a wheel = 10 times better and a little easier. you can control the throttle more and not be so foolhardy on the brakes. |

Would you drive a car on the road with a joystick? GPL was the reason I bought my first pc wheel. And the reason why I have just bought a Momo Force. |

1. delete everything into the murasama directory except the murasama.dat file 2. execute the GPLEA Honda RA300 v1.1.exe file and point it to the murasama directoty. You will find that the new car and its options were unzipped under a directory named \murasama\GPLEA Honda RA300 v1.1 3. copy the content of the \murasama\GPLEA Honda RA300 v1.1\RA300 standard directory into the main \murasama directory and that's it. This procedure will give you the most complete Honda with 16bit skins and 3D helmets. If you need to change to 4bit skins they can be found at the 4bit textures directory, and if you need to use 2d helmet option, you can find it in a directory with that same name. Arturo |
