2003 F3000 rc 1 - Imola

The qualifying session for the Imola F3000 race should have started by now (1630 CET I think) - any news on what happened in free practice?

Is anyone in California (or the states) going to be able to tape this race? I'm going to be out of town and I would really like to get a copy from someone. I'd be happy to pay for the blank and mailing of the tape or borrow it and mail it back.

Will they air this race later in the week?
I doubt the in-laws have Speed TV.

No matter what car you put Slowgartner & Hill in, they'll still qualify in the back. Who the heck is Valerio Suckelatti?

The gap between the nr 1 and 3 is as big as the gap between the nr 8 and 16

Man oh man do I hope that Townsend does well.
I can't remember who it was on this board that made comments about Townsend not doing well because American's only go in circles. Hey look, Americans can turn right!
5th on the grid!

well done Paffett and Kerr for promising performances....but when the hell is the racing world going to realise that Baumgartner couldn't drive a nail into a plank of wood...why is he still here!?

Best performance of the sessionis arguably between Luizzi, Bell and Schroeder, perhaps the latter as the Charouz team is so small. I'm not impressed with baumgartner or Hill, who was it who suggested Derek as a future F1 driver? I hope he doesn't get a sniff of a drive.

Surprised to see Janis so far off Schroeder - Janis seemed the more promising in Euro 3000, although Schroeder was clearly a talent...

Scassellati seemed at best a midfielder in his one and a half seasons of Euro 3000, scoring a single point at Jerez last year (when only 10 cars finished).

Well done to them both! I know that Robbie has never driven the car or the circuit, and I presume that Paffet has never driven the circuit before... what about the car? Has he done testing? Hope then have a decent performance during the race... its a shame they dont get much running in F3000 though.

Us Brits will have to wait for sunday morning before we see the race! MEGA!

Not as weak a field as I had anticipated, some reasonable names in there, but I'd like to see a few more cars.

Nice to see an American in F3000, and doing well. Who was the last US driver to do well in F3000? I can't say I can recall one...
