Rockingham Formula Saloons Sept 20th / 21st

Is there any indication on how many cars are racing in the Formula Saloons at Rockingham.

Also is it to early to know who ?

Too early I guess. I've just looked at the final regs for the meeting, and there's only 6 entries in FSaloons. However, the finals were out early (2 weeks before) and there's normally quite a few late entries.

Rod Birley should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I think it will be about 15. I won't be there because I am going to Coventry with friends for the BriSCa F.1 stock car meeting. Peter Thurston's Escort was badly damaged at Brands and one or two others had mechanical problems. Ric Wood, Andy Chester, Steve Hirst and the other championship contenders will all be there.

It just goes to show that the saying 'Quality not Quantity' still stands.

Although there were only 10 starters for Sundays race it was action from start to finish, with battles through the pack, both at the front with Martin Simms and Ric Wood, and then Steve Hirst and Peter Challis, I lost count how many times their position changed.

Lets hope there are a few more for Donnington with similar results.

Well done Formula Saloons for a great race !!!
