Do We Want more Sprint races or Enduros?

I dont think much , it runs the batteries down


an even blend in my opinion , I love the sprint races only because we get 2 or 3 starts per day but the longer races are good to allowing the chaos of pitstops in and then you have the enduro's where a 2nd driver is thrown into the mix.

HRT #1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Firstly open the series up to 18 rounds by having 2 rounds in each state and 4 international rounds, Secondly have 9 street rounds and 9 permanent ciruit rounds keeping the Enduros as they are now.
Finally have 9 sprint rounds and 9 300km rounds.

Depends if you class 300ks as an endurance race. I'm all for the 300k races. The sprint races are over before they begin mostly.

I think if they are to keep the sprints, make the pointscore for each sprint wider.....rather than race for position and two points, why not make it 20 point difference? Oooh.........I mentioned pointscoring!!!!

I feel that enduros should certainly carry more weight in points than a single sprint round

By that do you mean a single round comprising three short races such as at Barbagallo, Darwin (and for this year, Puke) or a single 300k race, as opposed to the "traditional" enduro race Sandown 500/Bathurst?

yes, but you have the situation that we see in three race events where the points differences are minimal in each race.
I know this subject has been done to death but I think sprints would be much more exciting if there was more to race for in each race. Lets hope they revise the structure in 2005 to stop accumulation and reward the top finishers.

I'd like more sprint races but for the sprint races to work they'd have to change the point score to encourage overtaking.

They should keep Adelaide as it is, and its a street circuit... the atmosphere at the EVENT is magic.... good crowds, great location, good circuit....

Now Indy on the other hand... unless the Supercar show is the main event, they should stay home.... 2nd and 3rd class citizens squished into a paddock the size of a handkerchief... although allegedly being fixed this year..

I'm with Racer - an eight to ten round sprint championship (races up to 300km), and then a 3 or 4 round Endurance Championship - VIP 500 at Qld, the Sandown 500, the Bathurst 1000, and hell, for interests sake, the Phillip Island 1000.

And in each race, no minimum number of pitstops, no minimum number of anythings - just straight twin driver (if required!) endurance racing

I'm liking that idea, so that there wouldn't be any holding back in either champoinship races, a points system that encourages overtaking would be good too.

No compulsary pitstops in the sprint championship, no compulsary pad change at Bathurst, no minimum abount need to drive by co-drivers, what is the point? and no limit on entries, just as many as the circuit will hold, if Bathurst is licenced for 60 or so cars, and that many entries are received and qualify, then thats how many should race.

Ten Round Championship of 300km Sprint Rounds, plus a four-five round enduro championship, including Bathurst, Sandown, Adelaide, and 2 international rounds, Shanghai and Auckland seemingly the most obvious.

Just to be greedy I'd like to see a 12 round sprint championship, consisting of a 100km and a 200km race at each round followed by a 3 round enduro championship. Each race in each championship would be worth the same points (25,20,16,13,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1)

I like the sound of a seperate Sprint championship and then a endurance championship.

Bit a nightmare commercially though you wouldnt be able to say your the v8supercar champion to a sponsor if you only won one series.

Then who would carry number 1 on there car the next season???

How about what said above, but making sure each race is every 2 weeks, and goto every state, and as many tracks as possible (Ie: Mallala etc)
The follow it up with Qld 500, Sandown 500, Calder Park 600 (on "Full" circuit), Wellington 500 and Bathurst 1000

Who said tradition has no place? I count two posts in favour of the Olde Days of Ye Australin Touring Car Championship of shorter races and he Enduro series, although the shorter races should be 300k with pitstops that mean something not pack-mentality pit lane scrummages.

I would like to see another event at Bathurst for single drivers as part of the championship. Say 3 x 30 laps and then have the 1000 as a stand alone event where teams can go all out for the win.

I think the current blend is just fine. At least the sprint rounds are held at tracks where overtaking IS possible. If it aint broke........
