Badgers should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Johnny Herbert Crash 1988

As most of you probebly know in 1988 Johnny herbert crashed at the famous Brans Hatch Raceway.
Over the years I guess I haven't realy thoughtabout it, but I acctually have Gregor Foitek's (the driver johnny crashed into) Helmet. Now I am looking to sell it and don't know how much it's worth and where i should sell it. If anyone could give me some pointers I would be most gratefull.
It is exacly how it was when it was in the crash, not been touched or put on by anyone. Nothing has changed since the crash.

Can you help Me?

Thanks

Ollie

My dad owned the team that Gregor Foitek raced for (GA Motorsports).

That's a matter of debate.

Perhaps it's something that should be left on the shelf.

No offence intended.

I always remember Roberto Moreno being interviewed at Brands just after Foitek had planted him in the Paddock tyre wall (which preceeded the big one)

"Eee is a crazy man!!"

Even before Brands hadnt Foitek already had a clash with Herbert (Spain?)

I honoustly doubt if there are many people willing to bid for that (nowadays very unknown) madman's helmet. But I could be wrong.

If I would own it, I'd probably use it as a waste bin, the only proper way that helmet ever should have been used.

Can't imagine you'd be overrun by bidders. I'd suggest a bit of research to see if there's a sports bar or similar in Switzerland that might want to pay top whack for it.

Badgers you must be Mike Colliers son?
Helmet must be damaged?
I would think you would be lucky to get much for it............
Mr Foitek is not the most popular driver in this country

You never know. After selling thousands of things on ebay, I've been surprised. I'd just throw it on ebay and what you get is what you get.

Whatever happened to Foitek anyways?

I believe he is running the family business in Switzerland and hopefully staying away from racing cars!

I wouldn't want the helmet - for what purpose? To celebrate a very bad day? I was there at Brands. I took my wife to a race meeting for the first time and pranged my MGB on the way there....

But more importantly, I still remember that awful silence that settled over Brands when the accident occurred. We feared the worst....

And as for Johnny crashing into Foitek, you're having a laugh.......

You'd need to be lucky enough to find some weird memorabilia collector to realise any cash for that. I don't think its going to make your fortune......

EBay seems your best bet, if you really feel the need to sell it but in view of some justifiably passionate responses to your enquiry, my gut tells me that it is time to close this thread.
