welshgal_2006 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
BTCC Thruxton

This will be my first visit ever to a circuit. Had the regs through today and I have never seen so many names down to work at an event, but then I am used to hill climbs.
We are staying in Winchester overnight so got about a 40min drive to and from there.
Who else is going?

Usual numbers for BTCC.
Always eventful meetings and good support races.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it, though keep your wits about you and stay safe.
See you there.

try signing up for a circuit meeting that isn't BTCC - slightly less chance of marshals being able to link arms all the way round the circuit

I will be there and also doing the test day on the Friday as well. I find doing the test day is quite useful in that you can spot drivers who might be struggling with the track or specific parts of it to keep an eye on during the meeting, work out how long into a session the tyres start going off for the relevant cars and for people who are fairly new to marshalling or who haven't done circuits before, it gives time to get used to the noise and the speed of the differing formulas in the more "informal" atmosphere of the test day rather than on the actual race day when there are time pressures amongst other issues to contend with.

So I'll see you there

I'm planning on going down on the Friday. Does anybody think I'll have any issue getting in during the day.

Actually, I might consider going down on Thursday night - anybody know if they might need people for testing (I don't want to volunteer yet, as I won't make that decision 'til Thursday).

Yes, you should be able to pitch on the marshals campsite okay on the Friday. Expect security will be at the front gate, just explain who you are and then be directed as normal.

Test days ALWAYS needs more marshals, so contact them if you're interested.

M25, past Heathrow, at the peak of rush hour, on the eve of the Good Friday bank holiday, in a caravan. Hmmmmm.

I will give it some consideration, but really, it would depend on whether or not I could get the Thursday afternoon off. Who *is* the marshals contact at BARC currently?

You could always try next week at Pembrey for that... Lots of guys and girls will be doing both meetings I think, and you'll get a nice intro to circuit ... pity it's short notice though!

Unfortunately there is rugby to be watched next weekend. Silly really as Pembrey is really close to us yet we have never been. Probably just because we have only ever done hill climbs.

I have 2 tickets, which are valid for 2 days from Saturday. No track pass for me, so I assume I'm near the paddock somewhere.

Same as Guinness2702, two tickets for two days starting Saturday. But I have a track pass, so guess I am out in the country somewhere.

I am also listed as a Flaggie for the weekend, so good times all round.
