Donington, May 4/5

Is anyone going to be at Donington at the weekend? I will be there on Monday only for MN, so if anyone wants to let me know what happens on the Sunday it would be appreciated!

Also, does anyone have a timetable for this meeting?

Thanks.

Well I'm at Croft doing F3 on Saturday and Sunday, and I was going to have Monday off until Matt J gave me the call today. Looks like a decent programme of historic racing though. I'm sure Brands will cope without me!

sure the timetable is as follows
qualifying
9.00 Best of British (mostly MGs)
9.25 Top Hat pre 65 Saloons
10.03 Cloth Cap pre 65 sports cars
10.43 monoposto racing trophy
11.06 Sebring salute GT cars
racing
12.55 FIA Furani trophy formula Junior 12 laps
13.25 Best of British 30 mins
14.05 Top Hat 60 mins
15.17 Cloth Cap 60 mins
16.27 Force 14 laps
16.54 Sebring GT 25 mins
17.31 Monoposto 20 mins

I am racing in Cloth Cap (in a Lotus Eleven) and Top Hat and Sebring (Alfa Giulia Sprint GT)
it will be excallent historic racing and a cut above "club racing"! Julius Thurgood puts on very good meetings - see you there!

Sounds like you're in for a very busy weekend, with Kirkistown as well Simon! I may try to catch you on Monday...

yes the logistics of it are beginning to make my head spin! I think I might have bitten off more than I can chew!!! Donington shud be good on both days, If I wasnt at Kirkistown I would go and watch Sundays racing but a whole weekend away might lead to divorce!

And I thought combining Croft and Donington was arduous enough...

If that isn't "club racing" then I've no idea what is!

an FIA race; an historic Formula 1 (1966-79 inc F5000) race (Force); and the rest of the programme including Alfa GTA's, C Types, Cobras, Ferrari 250 SWB and 275 and etc.... the grids are as good as Goodwood over two days with many famous historic racing cars and drivers (Sytner etc...)- thank god for club racing!!! If Donnington is always that good I might go there more often! Or I could go and watch vauxhall astras and champ cars go round and round the thrilling loop that is the indy circuit! Seems a bit of a no brainer from where I am standing!
