Fantastic news. Starting to become a glamorous championship again; bit like what was said here some time ago. A championship with races like the Silverstone Tourist Trophy, the Interlagos Mil Milhas, the Spa 24H. Maybe some more history-related tracks can be brought back in?

There were rumours about them entering that car in GT1, but those rumours appeared to be false if I recall correctly.

I'd question how many season long entries FIA GT can attract in 2007 with so many long haul events.

You question anything FIAGT related so it's absolutely not of a surprise to me.

1996 boom, 1997 boom, 1998 bust.

I don't want to see it happen again!

You can't grow from a European regional series to a world championship in little over two years without major manufactuer backing and a large sponsorship infrastructure supporting the series.

Is there even a TV deal for 2006?

You could argue quite easily that the manufacturer input from Porsche and Mercedes destroyed the original ethos of the BPR and diluted the series, leaving privateers with nothing competitive to run in 98.

1995-1996 BPR had the right idea, almost 100% privateers with a European schedule and the odd race in China.

Finally, we will expand our race program in 2006 by entering two factory Spyker C8 Spyder GT2Rs in 10 races including Sebring, 24-Hours of Le Mans, all Le Mans Endurance series races and some FIA GT races. The encouraging results in 2005 inspire us to double our efforts and challenge the establishment in GT2 class.”

fantastic, I saw them in Spa and Nuerburgring and the progress was amazing, of course triggered by the driver choice as well.

Do you know more about EURO GT than all the others? I don´t see the "new EURO-GT" would be a real GT series which can be a second choice for GT fans like the former EURO-GT was for a year or two

Hot from DSC; Renauer will enter 2 RSR's for the full season, driven by Wolfgang Kaufmann, Manfred Jurasz, Claus Schunk and Petr Valek, joined by former skiier Hans Knauss.

I guess it will be their RS´s and not two RSR´s ? Or did they recently acquire two RSR´s ?

Do you know which cars these should be ?

I read also the news on DSC but I’m still doubtful that it will be two RSR´s as the team owns two RS´s, which also appeared sometimes (wrongly) this year in the entry lists as RSR´s.

I know FIAGT messes that up all the time, but at DSC they do know the differences. But we'll see it soon I guess. Maybe Ed or Graham know more about this?
