Worst driver we've seen on grid in the last five years
Hehehe, I thought this could be an interesting topic
So, I guess we could start with a list of Minardi's drivers and start to take people off of that My vote probably goes for Young, anyway |

I generally try to avoid bagging on a driver too badly but Yoong should never have been allowed within 50 feet of an F1 car.

Actually, Minardi have produced quite a few good drivers over the years - names like Alonso, Webber, and Trulli immediately spring to mind, while Justin Wilson wasn't too bad either, and Ant Davidson has driven two Grands Prix for Minardi. It's just too bad for Stoddart and Minardi that they've never been able to hold on to these talents.
In any event, this debate is resolved by a look at F1rejects.com. |

Alex Yoong came to Australia and tried V8 Supercars... After a few races in the development series, he struggled to be inside the top ten, then he got a drive in the main series and was dumped after just one race for qualifying past 30, and finishing about there..
poor old Alex... |

Definately Alex Yoong. I was thinking Zsolt may have been in that category but I think he showed up reasonably well given the circumstances last year.

And he was a spectacular failure in F1 and VESCs. He's definitely the worst of an extremely talented bunch. |

Someone mentioned Pantano, and I have to agree that he was pretty brutal.
My question is why? Here was a guy who was a consistent frontrunner in F3000 and yet, he was pretty awful in the Jordan last year. He's a classic example as to why we really cannot evaluate talent until we see what they do in an F1 car. |

Yoong wins by a street, the only one close is Zslow and he at least had a dogged persistence about him. |

These worst driver threads seem to bring out the worst in our members. We have the US GP coming up this weekend, surely we can find something more postive to talk about...

If I'm going to criticise a driver, the first thing I'll do is learn his name. I don't nknow who this Alex Young chap is - maybe his cheque bounced.

Tarso Marques never really shone, plus he looked like he was stuck in 1986, reminded me of Duran Duran.

Mark Webber's the worst F1 driver in the lat 5 years. There, are you happy now?
Seriously I think Alex Yoong takes some beating, although Friesacher has failed to impress even slightly so far this year. |
