The future of VA Supercars?
So what will a "supercar" be in 2022 and beyond?
The commodore will be gone, and tho holden or chev may sell camaros, they will be in very small numbers. And with holden in financial strife with no appropriate road car to promote, they may well pull out. They wont be allowed to race old commodore panels, and wont spend any money developing anything else. With no holden, will ford stick around? sales of mustang are dwindling as the market is saturated. At least the mustang shape can continue to race for a bit longer, but possibly no factory support. So will we see older privateer mustangs race against.... what else? what engines? what panels? Meanwhile the TCR circus is getting its act together nicely, with many different makes, actual car bodies and a good fta package with very tasty supports Thoughts? |
