Assuming I didn't have a company car, $20,000 would buy me a tidy, 2-3 year old Falcon station wagon. $60,000 would buy me a Fairmont V8 wagon with everything and change to spare, or a medium sized rigid pantech race car transporter and something to put in it.
If I still had my company car, of course I'd spend it on race cars. $20,000 would buy me an XU-1 Torana Historic Touring Car and a 2-litre Improved Production touring Car. $60,000 would buy me a V8 Supercar with no engine or gearbox. Or I could buy a co-drive at Bathurst for the next 3 or 4 years. Alternatvley I could buy a Group C Touring Car or two. |
