And remember - just because we're not hearing things publicly does not mean nothing's being discussed behind the scenes.

I accept that KB but in marketing terms it's a lame duck already. It seems to be 'necessary' now to have private money as the organisations themsleves are part of the problem of finding sponsorship.

Exactly.
We know what's going on, we know we can't say anything until next week. ...but the people reading Autosport* are only seeing Formula Superfund, and thinking "that looks good!" (*other motorsport publications are available) |

GP2 is no further behind where F3000 was at this time in most off-seasons.
And GP2, once launched, will be promoted and marketed in a much more aggressive way than F3000 ever was. Bruno Michel is the head of GP2 - no-one was ever really in charge of F3000, it just existed. This will be a great series, although I agree it would have been nice to have a lot of public announcements before Superfund did. |

It's fairly well known in the media that Bruno Michel wants to present "the whole package" rather than release info in dribs and drabs.

The trouble is that those tactics don't work these days. If you want to keep the championship in the public eye you need to drip feed information.
What will happen is that next week there will be a big announcement, and then by the end of the month everyone will have forgotten, and nobody will think about it until March. The only people that will benefit are Bruno and Will, because it means they can have three months of carefree skiing. Last edited by sceptic; 5 Nov 2004 at 21:19. |

And I would think that in most off-seasons, there would have been signs that Fia would allow F3000 to be part of their F1 weekends. And most important: I would think that in *most* off seasons, F3000 didn't have to worry about any serious rival series (let alone two or three of them). |
