WTCC (and BTCC) test @ Silverstone
Spent a couple of hours at Silverstone earlier today watching the WTCC test. Couldn't get to the paddock so can't confirm exactly who was driving and if there was any other cars in the garages.
FORD http://www.redshoes-archive.com/info...=10473&cat=517 One Focus, which looks much better than I was expecting. BMW 2 cars, one each from UK and Germany http://www.redshoes-archive.com/info...=10490&cat=517 Andy Priaulx in what looked like last year's car, but now sporting number 1 on the door http://www.redshoes-archive.com/info...=10516&cat=517 #42 car was fitted with a huge data aquisition aerial on the bonnet. Couldn't tell who was driving but they were giving a great demonstration of opposite lock through Luffield. SEAT At least 4 drivers and 5 cars present. First up was the Plato 2004 BTCC car. Initially I was surprised to see that there but as Plato had raced it here last year I guess it made sence to use that as an initial benchmark. http://www.redshoes-archive.com/info...=10482&cat=517 Next out was the #9 Jordi Gene car. Hadn't realised until I got home and looked closely at the pics but looks like Plato at the wheel again http://www.redshoes-archive.com/info...=10521&cat=517 The 2005 launch car http://www.redshoes-archive.com/info...=10501&cat=517 Plain blue car with yellow front bumper. There was still a few decals on the windscreen and rear wing so this could be one of last year's cars. http://www.redshoes-archive.com/info...=10494&cat=517 Another plain blue car with yellow bumper, this time sporting the number 57 on the door. Closer inspection of the helmet it looks like Luke Hines is driving. Perhaps a pointer to a change of livery for the BTCC cars? I'll have a closer look tonight to see if I can recognise any more helmets. |

Unless that's an ex-ETCC car Hines was testing and will be repainted in silver and yellow in time for the season start.

Who's the 3rd named driver on the 2005 lauch car? It doesn't like like Diefenbacher's name, more like P.Tertling, ex-audi DTM driver. Can anyone confirm that?

I do like the look of that Focus, I had a look at the mock-up at the Autosport Show and it looked nice there, but the real thing looks a lot better.

Being a bit picky here but I notice Priaulx's car has "BMW Team UK" on the sill, instead of "BMW Team Great Britain" which I recall it has been so far in the ETCC ?
