BTCC Croft - Races

Well done to Colin Turkington for that win - a well judged drive.

Good to see Mark Proctor's okay after his heavy shunt.

madness going on out there...red flagging everything.

Nasty crashes for Hines & Proctor. Decimating the field somewhat. Vauxhall's looking strong as light weights. Lets see what happens now they're laden.

Good race too. Eaves is now only 1 point ahead of Muller in second...Vauxhall's are realing the Honda's in, with Turkington & Muller taking the most points today (34 & 32).

I'm just back, 3 interesting races today race 1 was a bit of pression and Colin had pulled out a massive lead, before Protor's monstor accident, I saw it and he hit the barriers quite hard and the car looks a bit of a mess. Race 2 again things got bit pressional again, but Muller controllled things as he does. Race 3 was the best one of the day Dan Eaves did a super job. Overall not a bad photo's later.

Very bad luck for Proctor. After I read in the programme that he's been short of budget and out of luck so far and was hoping to be competitive at Croft, his home track. Yet to see where he went off, assume it was round the back of the circuit as I was at Clervaux for Race 1 and didn't see much.

Witnessed the Plato / Eaves coming together after the chicane...

Also, the first Porsche Race when one of the cars hit the barrier with one almighty bang...that was the loudest shunt I've ever heard at a Circuit.

He went of round the back at Barcroft, he just went straight on hit barriers pretty hard, picture of the car coming shortly. As for the Porsche, I was passing the Redline Racing truck as the car was being delivered back, it look at bit of a mess.

I saw the whole of Mark Procter's accident and it looked a big one, I saw the car on its way back to the paddock and wouldn't at all suprised if he doesn't make the trip to Ireland next week. I have just uploaded my photos and they can be found here

I had a great day out, got the sunburn to prove it - even after using lotion!

Won a Castrol t-shirt after asking Dan Eaves a question during the pitlane walkabout, then got it signed by Tom Chilton who was happy to spend time discussing his forrays into sportscar racing this year.

Good to hear that Mark Proctor is okay. I'd taken along some old photos from when he raced a Nova in Rallycross, his team were very happy to have a laugh at his expense!
