Malc's should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Discounted petrol......lets hope so

I have just seen an article on the news about a club that could get discount on petrol. As this seems to be an ever growing cost i thought i would spread the word.

If anyone is interested check out http://www.pipelinecard.org/

They are hoping to give up to a 10p a litre discount

Apologies if this is already on here or it is not the right forum but i for one have already registered.

I can't see 10p, I heard they were looking at 2p, and I thought that was wishfull thinking, they would loose money at 10p off,I'm sure, on 89p/litre about 65p goes straight to tony, then they have to, out of the 24p (ish) thats left, pay for the fuel, and all their overheads, I'd be happy with a free car wash with every tank, and maybe a coffee!!!
(when I say happy, I mean it would be better than nothing!)

They say they expect to offer 5p to 10p discount on the website but even 2p on a tankful is better than nothing although 10p would be better. I'm sure someone on here drives a company car and will be able to give us an idea of the savings that fleet vehicles can get.

bearing in mind that people like shell actually don't make much money at all on forecourt sales and most of their money is made on industrial sales, with that in mind i will place my order for 10p off a litre along with my long awaited bucket of steam and tartan paint.

Call me a cynic but they keep refering to "we" and "us". Who exactly are these people organizing this out of the goodness of their hearts and does the Vatican know because they must be saints.

IMO the only register these people are interested in is the cash variety.

All those involved in the oil business are getting their cut from the inflated prices we're paying on the forecourts - the oil-well owners, refineries, filling stations. On top of that, the government siphons off nearly 70p per litre in tax. taken from link supplied on opening thread.

As a part owner in a filling station, I feel that this quote is misleading. Yes ofcourse we get a cut but I would not like to admit how small that 'cut' is and anyone in business has to make a profit! Go for the card/registration, I hope it works, I for one may be tempted. I just ask that you and the general public don't judge or get the wrong impression - it's only the government and oil giants that benefit from fuel prices - not fuel dealers. I do not wish or intend to offend anyone. I for 1 do 30k miles a year and would welcome any discount, but even at cost (if I got it!!) would still be paying a hell of a lot more than what the oil companies do.

Moved to road car. I'm sure we've had something like this before?
