Customer chassis never did anybody any harm.
I'm quite keen on the idea. Hopefully we'll see several teams starting a season with the same chassis, only to develop them separately as the Porsche 956/962 teams did in the 80's. Mmmmm heaven... |

What if for example Dallara or Lola were to build a chassis, and it transpired that this were the best one on the grid? A large proportion of the teams might be less keen on developing their own, and we're left with less variation in cars.
Interestingly, I enjoy the Champ Car series which of course uses one particular chassis. I guess I've long viewed one of F1's attractions as being the variation in chassis design. |
