MAC Curborough
Not exactly an inspired entry, with respect to numbers, never the less not a bad day out!
Deryk Young was mighty in taking FTD in the Gould-Judd; mind you he was inside the course record in practice and just failed to set a new record by three hundredths! Sue Young meanwhile demolished the Ladies Record which has stood since 1998 and set the third fastest time of the day. Webbo had the 'green meanie' out and looking very nice despite the extra bit of green on the front wings - must have been a drafty garage! John Wood was making his debut in the ex-Bill & Matt Oliver Dallara-Vauxhall that he acquired recently. Phil the Fuzz was sharing Brain Sanders' Catpol Jedi to good effect and none the worse for wear! There were some lovely Classic and Vintage machinery present. These ranged from Rupert White's 1.8 supercharged Wolseley Hornet Special to the ex-Grand Prix film Lotus 22 of Peter Whyte. There were also the slightly eccentric Austin Healey Speed challenge with loads of big Healeys. Personal favourite on track was the gloriously barking straight six Cooper Bristol; however the car I really lusted after was the Arnolt-Bristol that was parked in the spectator car park, it was drop-dead-gorgeous! |

Better if you clean it so it is a nice uniform black already for some championship stickers! |
