Incidently, it was announced at the Superprix that RP would be represented at the London Motorsport Show (9th-10th December) with a display of cars. This is geared more towards competitors and MSA licence holders are being sent free tickets so could be worth a visit...

The free ticket was sent out with the latest "Motorsport Now" magazine. Good idea to push rallycross at the show

This is great news, well done the BRDA for getting this organised.
I know that there is not an official show guide anymore, so here is some info for anyone going to the show.
Quote:
You will be pleased to hear that the BRDA will be exhibiting at the Autosport Show from 11 to 14 January 2007. Our stand number is 10114, which is on the link between halls 10 and 11. (Hall 10 is the National Racing area, and Hall 11 is the Oval Racing Experience).

The stand will have Dave Bellerby's Lotus and Joe Cunningham's Mini on show.
Also appearing in the Live Action Arena are Christopher Evans and Andrew Jordan.
If you do go to the live action, keep your eyes open for a certain Mr Martin Tinker who will be in his Autograss car.

All drivers should have got an e-mail, but just in case you didn't. Here is an important announcement for any drivers who will be attending the show.
Quote:
Assistance
If any driver (particularly Juniors), would like to spend some time helping on the stand, please email me. We would like to have some drivers available at all times to talk to prospective drivers about their experiences of Rallycross.
The man to e-mail is our esteemed CoC Andy Stevens.

Here's a link to the show floorplan, which should make locating the stand a bit easier. Click Here for floorplan (pdf doc)

Anyone got a spear 10,000 Euro
I mentioned on British rally forum about only two cars there this year and have had comments posted back to me.

My point being if I was a prospective backer of wanna be competitor in say one of the other classes I hink it would of made more of a visual impact if cars from the other classes where represented and this is where the MSA should give some help financially by offering drivers to put their cars on the stand ie cost of petrol to get the cars at the show.

If it wasnt for people like Dave Bellerby and that other "Junior" bloke then the stand wouldn't look much but with a car from each class represented then it would stand out more and this goes for the RSS team too as they want to make the championship they are running this year more appealing to people .

Its all well and god having loads of drivers and personnel on the stand but without a larger choice of cars there then IMO it dosnt look good for the sport, i may be wrong but thats my point of view

hope there are dvds forsale and the rallycross magazines and other stuff that can b bought from there on the day

Like Silver Bullet says about getting the sport noticed more and well done to the BRDA for doing this but if we want to get Rallycross up therethen the RSS should be doing something too

When i managed to find the rallycross stand which seemed to be well hidden away with the grass rootes motor sport section which it does not deserve to be anywhere near in my apinion All i saw was to cars in the same colours . Where they from the same team?

I had a good look at the lotus and overherd some people going on about weights of cars and the only way to keep with the foreign drivers was to keep the weight down! Does the british championship have many foreign drivers? Also herd something about contracted drivers ? but only herd half the conversion. Can anybody enlighten me?

I also herd there is a second organiser of Rallycross meeting , can someone give me contact ?

Yes they were both from the same team, Proctors Coaches.

There are currently no drivers outside GB and IRE in the British Championship, and i believe the weight limits have been introduced to control what we already have, not anything to do with any foreign drivers.

Dont think anyone is contracted to drive for anyone else in the UK at the moment.

Second organiser? Explain?
