I remember the Autosport game, where my dad works they used to run the same competition when I was a kid, I think we won the competition a couple of times actually. Personally we went for a top driver and a top chassis and engine if I remember correctly and then got the cheapest tyres available and the best test driver with the limited budget. Good fun, but as you say the competitions were a pain to run and the guy who used to run the one we competed in has sadly passed away and nobody can be bothered to run one.

Ok, part of the announcement.......
Firstly, as you can see (at the top of the page) we have a splendid new sub-forum specifically for our predictions competitions. This way we ensure that the competition threads don't get lost in the day to day discussion area. Secondly, the format is almost pinned down, but there is still the possibility of a couple of last minute tweaks before we announce it. Thirdly, a long standing member of the very highest calibre has offered to oversee the competition. The offer was simply too good for us to turn down, so I've been relegated to the subs bench. We believe he will be an exceptional competition host and have the utmost confidence that in his hands you can be assured of an exciting and well run competition. And the name of our new competition host is............(drum roll please)................ .............to be revealed in due course! |

Ah we get our own predictions competition forum. About time. The touring car, F1 and Champcar forums all have their own and this is the 3rd busiest motorsport board on ten-tenths. We have enough members to make this really work now and as Bentley03 has said this way the competition thread wont get lost.

Right, we have everything in place and it's time to announce our host for the 2007 Ten Tenths Sportscar and GT Predictions Competition:
jhansen We are extremely grateful to 'jhansen' for volunteering to give up a large chunk of his free time in order to oversee this competition. I have absolutely no doubt he'll do a fantastic job and would like to say a big thank you to him! The competition has been revised to 10 qualifying races and these will be revealed in due course when 'jhansen' publishes the rules and schedule for this year's competition in the new sub-forum. Needless to say, Sebring will be the opening race, so we'll be underway in the next few days. The competition is open to absolutely everyone, so please, feel free to join in. The more participants we have, the more fun it will be. Once the rules are published, please read them carefully and make sure you understand how to play before posting your predictions for the first race. Good luck everyone, your reputations are on the line.......... |
