STR are no longer to use stick on Bulls!
In another effort to search for that elusive 10th of a second,STR have decided against stickers!

thats a Newey special!
When I was at McLaren, many moons ago, Adrian insisted that the West logos were sprayed on the rear wings. He was also paranoid about the paint thickness on the leading edge of the wing. (big problem for Rocket Red as that requires 7 coats + lacquer). |

Well, this appears merely like typical promobabble to get the attention away from Toro Rosso and towards the product they actually want to sell, which is now no longer stickered onto their car, but painted.

I was worried when I first read this that they had done away with the fantastic design of the bull on the car (it's the best on the grid). But luckily they just have to paint it on instead. Paint is better than stickers for weight and aero properties, so Newey was right when he wanted them painted. However, how much difference it makes will remain to be seen...
I would imagine that Newey did what they did with the Spitfire, work out where it needs to be paint and not stickers? On the spit they changed the rivets to flush riviting where it gave them performance... |
