There will be a new DTM rules in 2009. Standard monocoque, less aero parts, no more team orders, ... Hopefully this attract the heavily needed extra manufacturer.

FLGTFAN has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
The BEST thing that could happen is if Audi races against Peugeot in the LMS.

But when after winning soooooo many races did Ferrari sell more cars????? The market is based upon real cars not cars that want to be aircraft! GT and to some extent LMP cars are what people see as real cars and as such desire to buy them as they are quick. Branding is alot I know and merchandising reflects this but many who support F1 buy a flag not a car!

I suspect Ferrari sells as many cars as Ferrari wants to sell.

You are right and the result of limiting supply is that they can sell their cars at prices much higher than the equivelant 'mass produced' Porsche

Ok so bad analogy but I think the ethos is sound. F1 aint sportscar racing(thank which ever deity you want) and as such has no relevance to the common man. IMVHO

The Common man (ie casual supporter) is more likely to follow F1 than Sporstcars.

The genuine petrolhead, who may sometimes own a Ferrari, is more likely to like sportscars - Look at the demographic figures produced by ALMS about the average earnings of their fans. LMS is no different (there are just less of them at the moment).

Since I heard Ferrari and Audi.

"Admitting it has torn down Audi’s fuel injection system to understand its possibilities, Ferrari insiders suggest that its new engine technology will allow for a 10 per cent improvement in horsepower more and at least a 40 percent reduction in emissions."

I like F1, but there isn't too much relevant technology there. Everything is prohibited. But Audi was able to test out FSI direct injection very well in Le Mans.
