Magny Cours Advice

The French G.P. is the only one I can make this year...and for the first time my wife wants to come along which is fantastic! SO...can anybody tell me any useful info about Magny Cours? Esp. Which grandstand seats are best/ Is Magny Cours actually worth a visit!?

Thank you.

I think there was a pretty in depth discussion of this last year, can one of the moderators point us in the right direction?
I've done the GP at Magny and raced there myself so feel free to ask questions as you think of them.
Pertinant facts.
Approx 300 miles from Calais? Might be getting confused with Spa...
Not too tough to drive back to UK after race on Sunday although getting out of the car parks can be a nightmare and heading back to the car and having a Bar-B-Q is quite common whilst waiting for traffic to die down.
Grandstands: Opposite pits are good, but V.dear, anything backing onto those looking across infield are pretty reasonable.
Middle of nowhere, so don't go thinking you are going to get hotel accomodation, aim to take tent or sleep in car, police are cool about tents in car parks, unlike German Politzei at Hockenheim who come and kick them over...
Race itself tends to be a little boring, but well worth the trip at least once and you can get to see pretty big chunks of the circuit from your seat unlike a lot of places.
Cheers

No Craig, there was an in depth discussion of viewing the GP at Magny maybe in F1?
Can you have another rummage for us?
Cheers

Thanks for the info.

Very helpful esp. the bit about tents, police and carparks!

Just one thing I can´t quite place which grandstands you mean when you say 'anything backing onto those looking across infield are pretty reasonable'could you enlighten me?

Cheers

Basically there is a row of grandstands with their backs to the start/finish line, overlooking the spectacular Imola chicane and looking across to Adelaide. They're not so expensive and you can see the cars for a lot of the infield section.

Check out:

And you'll see what I mean

Cheers

Cheers ...nice map

However my wife (boss) wants to see the start so that´s that I suppose.

Mind you , armed with your map I might just be able to sell the idea of a view across Imola towards Adelaide...here goes!

To be honest, if she's going to let you spend the dough to sit on the start/finish, I probably would!!!!
Cheers
