HSV 20th Anniversary Sponsorship on Toll Cars???
HSV are celebrating 20 years???
That was the sponsorship printed on the bonnet of the Toll car during today's qualifying. I thought HSV distanced themselves from the 'Walky', claiming it wasn't an HSV, but a contracted Holden Motorsport job. The only other car HSV brought out in 1987 as far as I can remember was the SV1800, or Astra (nee Nissan Pulsar) with an awkward body kit. Perhaps HSV are celebrating the 20th year since they successfully wrestled the hot road car business from Peter Brock's HDT? Which would be somewhat macabre; on the first anniversary of Brock's death... |

1988 was when the VL model came out with that hideous body kit that looked like it was produced by Mugen. That makes 20 years this year

20 year of the company. It was also on the cars at Sandown.
If the HSVDT didn't exist, then you probably would have seen that signage on the HRT cars. |
