Who's in what with who in '09?
With just a few weeks to go to the start of the new season, haven't heard too much about movement for this year.
Tom New is sharing with Chris Merrick, which seems inspired. Similar build, similar styles, ought to benefit both of them, I'd have thought. Tom could well be a contender for top 5. We know Graeme Wight jr has the electric car coming on stream, is he taking in the full championship with it? Also from Scotland, I see a certain Mr Menzies has a V8 which should be a pretty potent combination. He wasn't exactly slow before. Any more significant developments we should be aware of? |

2. Wallace Menzies has a brand new DJ with a V8 in it which should be out shortly. 3. Up in Scotland the ex-Barrie Lines MP43 is acquiring a BIG V8 and will be seen in the hands of an ex-Chevron & Pilbeam driver. 4. Welsh Wizard Eynon Price is busy slotting his 1585cc Hayabusa into the FORCE he acquired at the end of last season. 5. Will Hall should have a 1.6 Hayabusa in his FORCE. Now for some questions: A. Will Basil Pitt have sold the Gould and if not will he be out in it? B. Will the Ranson/Groves Gould be out for a full season? C. Will the Pilbeam MP22/02 that was sold at the Manchester auction last month make an appearance on th hills? |

That's going to be the biggest drag of my hiatus, missing Eynon Price in the Force.
Just out of interest, is it a new chassis or if used, who was it's previous owner? |

Indeed.
Eynon was the star of the show as Wiscombe Park for me last year. It's one thing to get the tail to hang out in a single seater. To do it deliberately on a steep, adverse camber hairpin with a dodgy tree sap covered surface (Martini) is completely something else. I did see some facial expressions on a lot of drivers spectating from the top paddock, which can only be translated as "I wish I could do that". |

Hehh we can ALL do that - Just not intentionally........... But then again ALL single seater pilots are certifiable(!) a fact testified to by the wording on the rear spoiler of one particular single seater ......... "May contain nuts"

Hello peeps,
Haven't been about for a while, but with the new BHCC just days away I thought I'd pop in. Hope everyone is good and settling into 2009. I was having a chat with 2008 champ Scotty Moran earlier today, they are almost ready, Roger went to collect the newly dyno'd engine this afternoon. It's been on the dyno for about a month so should be nice and ready for a good title attack. So the Moran clan should be nicely ready in time for Loton Park. A little news also about GW Jr. He will be competing in the Predator V10 this year and it's not likely that we'll see the electric car this year unless he decides to give it a run towards the end of the season. It's still very much in development so we have to wait until 2010 till we get to see it. |

To be fair, the Predator's pretty much still in development...
While I'm like the variety that the electric car will bring there's two things that I'm not sure about: 1) Safety 2) It won't sound like the Predator... |

Assuming all the technical, performance, competitive equivolence and safety issues can be addressed by BRM. One issue of extreme importance still needs to be carefully thought through with reference to Jnr's new car.
Who's going to re-write "Ernie, the Fastest Milkman in the West" into a suitably disrespectful ditty for us to get on Graeme's nerves with? |

If past experience is anything to go by, Tony Hunt. |

New Sports Libre
Just thought I would mention the car we are just finishing..
it's a sports libre with a 8.3 litre chevy V8; front mid-engined; 50/50 weight distribution; aerodynamics by Edinburgh University including a unique (massive) 3-foil rear wing; front and rear diffusers; inboard rear suspension; body made from alloy composites; floor made from GRP/poyethylene composite; chassis made from large section ultra thin wall tubing... all self designed and built the only disadvantage is seeing past that big lump of an engine! We will be in Scotland this year with a few forays to Englandshire. You will hear it before you see it |

Ye gods !!
I thought sticking a modified 5 litre BMW M5 V8 engine into the Pilbeam MP 43 was pushing things a bit. |
