Doesn't look like anyone will own up Silver...and it looked a reasonable crowd.

Congratulations to Princess on winning the GT3CC championship and the round at Symmons Plains. A real shame that Bill Pye couldn't be there to give him a run for it but there's a rivalry to look forward to watching in 2009.
Bathurst in February can't come soon enough, 25 944's and 30 911's will be a hell of a spectacle. |

It will be a great day in Feb and I will be there
I found footage of the Porsche support race from the Bathurst 24 hr 2003 the other night.I had a tripod set up over the top of the mountain, recording the start of the Saturday afternoon race. The turbo's sound great! Where are they now.... I also have a few of the Euro Porsches during the 24hr race. The Green Porsche almost broke the mic!! Very loud..verycool As well as footage from the kink on Conrod at 10.30pm Saturday night. Very quick indeed. Better bring my camera along this time around. |

For those there the 24 Hour race Porsches(& others) were sensational -particularly at night. The upspecced Cup Car of the German genius Alzen in the wet,at night thru the chase was one of life's great experiences--really entertaining. Would be fantastic to see some of those RS ,RSR's,GT2 etc able to run up there in Feb. That really would be a sight(and sound) to see. |

I know one swallow doesn't make a stick movie or to paraphrase Bill Hayden, I know a drovers dog could get a big field to Bathurst but even if half become regular players then we've got a footy match. How's that for a bag full of metaphors?! Lots of new players as well. Anyway, as always, the BS stops when the entries get sent in. Until then, we've got nothing but a calender, some tracks and a plan. I'm off to watch Kevin Costner mow a corn field |

Not a bad effort from a category that the previous incumbent tried to kill off with incompetence -- now it looks like it will flourish again. |

Media release just received...47 entries so far with 26 GT3CC cars and 21 944 Challenge cars.
I know of a few GT3 drivers that just can't make it for a variety of reasons and none are economy related so the series is off to a great start in 2009. Now if we can all just play nice together at Bathurst so our racing stays economical! |

Thanks Belly...we get a pretty fair go (for Bathurst). Practice, qualifying and an 8 lap race on Friday. Two 8-lap races on Saturday.
That'll do me, I will have had enough by then, the place terrifies me! |

The GT3CC just keeps going from strength to strength...without the controversies.
No fun for us troublesome posters, but obviously this category works. 25 entrants for Shannons Nationals at Phillip Island 16-17th May...19 996 Cup Cars and 6 997's. Follows on from 23 at Bathurst in February when track sharing with the 944's. New players such as Juniper, Kepper, Jinadasa, Kingsley, Klasan and Koutsoumidis. Trende returns to keep the towies and brooms moving. |

Fantastic weekend at the Island, even allowing for poxy weather. Made for some interesting racing in GT3CC with race 1 dry, race 2 wet and race 3 dry from turn 1 to hayshed then wet all thru Lukey, MG and back on to the Gardner Straight for 15 of the 24 laps! Was doing prostate-strengthening excercises every lap tipping it in at turn 12!
Big grid of 23 with battles all through the field. Ivan Klasan had a wild ride in his 997 Cup car backwards down the straight in race 1 and collected the outer wall near the control line. Despite serious damage, him and crew worked all night to get back on the grid for race 2 on Sunday, great effort. What a comeback for Matt Kingsley, gave us all a driving lesson including the local favourites Kane Rose and Princess Burchartz to win the round. This time last year he was slowly recovering from serious head injuries sustained in that huge ute crash at Clipsal. Doing 1.55's in the wet race 2, I had delusions of adequacy until I saw Kingsley was cranking out 1.49's. Trende showed good pace and found Syberia no issue. Wild ride throught the gravel opposite turn 3 and popping out at Honda gave a few of us a fright in practice. Check Youtube later this week for vision. Oh, and not much fun looking at his headlights at Hayshed in race 2, lap 1. Krashos settled well into his new 997 but had a slight coming together with Kepper at Syberia, Lago continues to improve and leads the 997 Trophy Class. With Porsche Cars Aust. involvement with a marquee, BBQ's and 31 regularity competitors it was a great weekend had by all. 20 confirmed already for Mallala in 3 weeks...back in the sheds with a pop-up, but can't wait! |

Rose lost gears in R 1 and thought it to be a clutch problem. Race 2 the clutch worked fine but had no 6th gear--so a pretty good result. Gearbox still incomplete so no appearence in R3 . bad luck for a battling team.
Kane is a terrific talent . I saw another real talented guy on the weekend in Matt Kingsley. In slippery conditions on slicks he put in lap times of 44's that some cant do on a dry track. By way of comparison a little later in the day the lead Gt cars in Wall &Richards lapped 5 seconds SLOWER in conditions not as wet. That is Jim Richards if you seee the point. He nearly lapped the field. |
