Thorney should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
lol, nope, we're down to 40% of the grid

Thats pretty much what CSL Cup is about, we looked (and tried to run) in Kumho and it didn't suit. Important (we thought) was to run on slicks as road tyres do limit what you can do really. To my mind the E46 is a natural race car:

Proper race chassis
rwd
360bhp
1150kg
slicks
easy to police

Self build for under £18k including donor car. Considering the laptimes I dont think there is a faster race series for the budget. Standard class is pretty much single make championship and modified class means full GT level racers for reasonable budgets. One of our drivers (Nick Foster, used to drive VIpers in BGT) said it was one of the most fun cars to drive he'd ever been in.

To be honest bdwoody it is somone with your sort of car that i believe would benefit from this sort of event, if the series i wish to see race do race and the evnt goes ahead theoretically you could enter upwards of 7-8 races!
Now where do i start organising this.....it seems much more fun then trying to gain employment...

Lobby MSVR as it's the sort of thing they'd be inclined to promote and organize I reckon.

If they bite get in touch with John Willcocks and Rod Birley (and Rod you know what you can /still/ do! ) 750MC etc, and lobby them to have it on their calendars.

They always welcome some hassling, especially John and Rod. Rod is often in Australia so the best time to phone is 3am UK time - I'll PM you his number.

Having run the Super Touring Car Cup in the LMA this year, this is something we would be up for, should be a minimum of 10 Super Tourers and Seat Leons.

This doesn't include other cars / classes of LMA.

We have often suggested that the BARC, BRSCC look at a Saloon Fest as this offers drivers the chance to race in more than one race during the event

Thats great to hear Avro, certainly the DMN and LMA Euro Saloons are two of the series i would most want to be racing. And the more supertourers the better. As you are involved with LMA by the look of it perhaps you could point the powers that be in that series this way and see what they make of it? Would be an excellent event.

Xsport are another team that would im sure benefit from this event, the PBMWs would have stuff to race in as would those great looking Leons, hopefully by then the V8 Mondeo would be done also?

Well Tris people have been murmuring about bringing the Fastest Mini race to Brands, this seems like the perfect event to me.
Also the tintops would hopefully be there
There shall always be room for minis! They're only small after all.....
