Peter Scillitoe should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
WHAT IF.....................

Just spotted item on the Britcar website this morning under title "What IF..........." proposing 8 round Aussie V8 style UK series in 2011. Contains a number of ground breaking ideas e.g. all the cars will be hired from central source and delivered to teams "complete with trailer". Hope it comes off, but not sure whether I overslept last night and have awoken on 01 April

Far too expensive! £40k for the car and registration fees, then on top of that insurance, fuel, and transportation to events. Only for the seriously rich racer/Professional team I think.

Looks interesting, do people think there is room for it with the large number of championships out there now? Not saying there isn't, but just wondered what people thought. Assume it would run on the Britcar Bill?

Is it that different to what most Britcar teams are already spending? Expensive for the typical clubman maybe but not for their target market.

Jame Tucker got a V8 only championship going in 2006 didnt he? Had an Aussie V8 in it a V8 Star Omega and a few other assorted V8s. Sadly didnt last to long.

You can bet your life it won't be with the genuine V8 Supercars from Australia, which is probably why they only refer to them as Australian V8's and not the proper name of the real things. Those cars are waaaay more expensive to run than what is being quoted, so it will just be more of a production-based car and not a V8 Supercar from the Aussie series.

Unfortunately Tucker has a habit of announcing plans that don't end up happening.
