Racing Simulators

Yesterday I was at a World Cup/F1 viewing party and they had a real racing simulator - you could set up the specs on the car, choose a real track, and even the seat had movement so it felt real. Amazing! Now if I could have one for my home...

Judging by the photo and the sticker on the left you've had a go on iRacing. Its a very good simulator, possibly even the best around at the moment

You are totally right - that's the software they use! It's sooo much fun. Here's the website of the company - I'm lucky enough to be in the same office so get to "play" on his very sophisticated machines. trinity-racing.com

As mentioned before on this section Iracing is very good but also very, very expensive for a game.

I do agree that as a sim it is perhaps unrivalled in realism and effects, but someone calculated recently that it would cost nearly 500 pounds a year to compete in lots of races and have all the tracks/downloads etc.

That is simply greed in anyones book, especially when you don't have zillions of cars and tracks to race on and lots of it is ovals.

Obvously you can win money by competing, but to be honest the guys at the top are not really human.

For sure the audience for this product can be small. They also do training in their facility so you don't have to own the machine. And for gaming? That's for celebrities only that have WAY too much money!
