Super boring race with next to no on-track action, there was a bit off track tho, but that didnt raise the overall entertainment value much. 4 points.
Oh, the track is great, its such a technical track. It just doesnt produce very good F1 races. Except for that one Jenson won in 2006. |

7 - much better than I expected it to be - amazing what one safety car can do isn't it?

7. Better race than is usually expected at this circuit, but still the drivers/cars found it difficult to overtake.

Mainly because Red Bull gave Webber so much work to do when they didnt take him into the pits at the safety car! Championship closed right up and battles through to the end, cant ask for too much more in my mind |

Hungary has actually produced some good races in past decades so its not all the circuits fault....
I also looked at some clips from the 1982 season...Long Beach, Rio, Detroit (there were 3 American GP's that year including Vegas....) Monaco, Brands Hatch, Austria, Monza etc. There was heaps of passing for position and the cars could follow really closely in high speed corners....so its NOT primarily the fault of the circuits... |

Infinitely better then expected (which normally only happens with rain in Hungary)

5, very boring race but had a few exciting moments. I think the only real pass was Barrichello on Shumacher, unacceptible lack of close racing and passing.

A far more interesting race than I was expecting, but then this is Hungary - one's expectations are not exactly set too high!
I'm going to give it a 7. It was only the unexpected occurrences/incidents/dramas which have caused this elevated score, given they clearly enabled a masking of what would have surely been a rather typical procession of direness which we tend to expect from Hungary, but the race was what it was as a result of these unexpected things. There is a reason races aren't run on paper, and those reasons are usually the things which make things better than expected! |

Well Hungary I admit isn't a great track. It has produced some good races in the past - remember Piquet and Senna's battle in 1986? Mansell in 1989.
However it is very difficult to pass there. It was an interesting race in that Webber managed his tyres well, also Rubens performed the overtake of the season. I rate it a 6/10. I wonder how his apology from Michael went? Michael : Look Rubens I'm sorry for what happened in the race. Rubens : That's okay Michael. No really. I like trying to be run into a solid concrete wall at 180 mph. No really. It is not like I have a wife or family or anything like that. |

Hungary IS a great drivers track, very technical and challenging. Almost all the drivers love it. The only problem is that its impossible to overtake. People talk about the fact that F1 gets rid of all the great drivers' circuits, well, then please dont get rid of Hungaroring. Its awesome, it just isnt much of a spectator track
