De Sanctis F3
I have a 1967 or 68 De Sanctis formula 3 car that I would like to determine it's history. The car is stamped 003 at the rear near the upper shock mount, but upside down. The car's roll hoop is also stamped with NER 242 13 201. I have contacted the New England Region SCCA and they say that is not a NER SCCA stamping, because the NER SCCA number should start with the number 20 and not NER. Maybe it was different 70's?
I do know the car was in Indiana in the mid 70's being raced by a Dr. Bert Davis who was/is a ortho surgeon in Anderson, Indiana and may have lived or is living in Pendleton, Indiana. I have not been able to contact him. I have talked with the mechanic who worked on the car in 1974 and in 1975. His name is Bert Young and told me the car was a FF then. The car came with the Collati internals that the F3 cars used in the VW transaxle, but no case or side plates. Does any of this information mean anything to anyone? Does anyone know who drove De Sanctis #003 in F3? Please respond here or email me at: irwin_eng(at)hotmail.com Thanks in Advance. David Irwin |
