Hmmm. Tell that to HRT.
My point being, in F1, you have a massive advantage being on the front of the grid - clean air, and the difficulties in overtaking all run in your favour. The most important thing in qualifying is to be at the front of the grid on race day. If you don't use up your tyres all the better, but you MUST be at the front or things get a lot more difficult than 0.1s might imply. |

I think Lewis was quite correct - he IS the new Senna - BRUNO Senna! If not he is more like Andrea de Cesaris (Crasheris). Andrea could have won a WDC too if he had the best equipment from the time he was 4 1/2 years old too and got an unusually lucky break after he had cracked under the pressure to win that one. Sheesh, Vettel would wipe the floor with Hamilton in the same car.
The real Hamilton showed us his talent in Malaysia ... with the KERS-less RBR, he had the best car and displayed his typical amateurish performance. Hard to believe so many fanboyz overrate him but I guess when you hear FIGJAM so many times you swallow it. |

This will not raise the standard of debate a great amount, but has anyone else found Vettel's recent performances rather Senna-esque?

Senna-esque on Saturdays. Prost-esque on Sundays. Does it all with a smile too. He's been extremely impressive.

I for one am increasingly impressed by him.
Lewis may have spoken a bit soon; Alonso didn't look very Prost-esque on Sunday on Lap 45. It's all getting very confusing. |

Not a chance.
But ignoring stupid comparisons with past eras, Vettel has been pretty much perfect so far this season. |

Mind you Lauda was also Prost's great influence, according to Prost himself, following the McLaren years together. |

Marko's pleased. But seems to be more pleased with the fact that Vettel's main rivals are already making mistakes.
“I think he doesn’t make any mistakes and, from his immediate challengers (in Malaysia), Lewis Hamilton had ruined his tyres and Fernando Alonso had that collision, so as long as they eliminate each other he is on the upside and winning,” Marko told the official F1 website.” http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/2...er-says-marko/ |

I think Mr Hamilton might be a little closer to the mark than he intended. If my memory of Mansell in a dominant car is correct,he was confirmed as champion in September. After the first two races this seems an entirely plausible outcome once more.

If he wins in China, he will equal one of Mansell's records - namely 5 wins in a row. I admit he does look very dominant at the moment and really seems to have matured a lot this year, and the end of last season as well. He is really young and in an amazing car, it is going to be difficult at least at this stage to see anyone challenging him.
I think he is probably the best qualifier at the moment. Whether China is going to be such a walk over for him remains to be seen. The lacks of KERS might hurt him and Webber there, but that Red Bull is an amazingly fast car. The fact that he managed Sepang with a dodgey KERS system and remembering back to Korean race in the wet last year, just shows he knows how to race in very difficult conditions. That must be very daunting for the other drivers, as he is so young. |

Vettel won his first GP in the wet.
