Winton Festival Of Speed historics 2011

Thanks for sharing the photos. I didn't know the F5000's were going to be racing or I would have made sure I got to the event!

Q: Why do the Aussies (and the yanksfor that matter) run modern tyres on historics?

All it does to my mind is encourage/necessitate the *******isation of the rest of the car

Small'ish turnout, but a great spectacle thanks to very committed driving from most of the guys. These cars really come alive at Winton and seem to demand a lot of attention around it's challenging long circuit layout. I hope they go back for this event next year.

Keep an eye out on the vhrr website (www.vhrr.com), as these events are advertized months in advance. Next stop for them is Sandown in November!

Really? I wouldn't have thought so to any meaningful extent. Anyway, not an issue that holds any interest for me, as I just enjoy seeing the pageant of motorsport history unfold at these events. If it means that the cars are more predictable and therefore perhaps slightly easier to control at speed, I don't see the problem.
