F1FansClub should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Minardi Boss Quits!

Minardi team manager Cesare Fiorio has quit the outfit after a disagreement over the future of the F1 strugglers.

The Italian’s departure is believed to have been instigated by a rumoured takeover of the team by Argentine cable TV network PSN. The TV station is a major backer of Minardi’s Argentine racer Gaston Mazzacane.

The move signals the end of Fiorio’s second spell at Minardi after he rejoined the tail enders in January 1999. If the PSN takeover goes ahead it’s thought that the they will request a Brazilian driver joins Mazzacane in the team. This will leave the team’s current driver Marc Gene out in the cold.

Fiorio was team manager at Ferrari during the team’s successful period in the late-Eighties and early-Nineties. It was during this time that he came close to brokering a deal that would have seen Ayrton Senna join the great Italian team.

Poor Minardi Fan!!! Diniz to Minardi!

Not too sure what to make of this. PSN are obviously stupid to think that it's more worthwhile keeping Gaston and not Marc, but it's $$$$$$ talking .

And I guess this means we'll see Diniz in the other Minardi in 2001.

DAMN YOU MARC GENE IS GOOD, MAZZACANE IS ****!!! DO YOU WANT POINTS OR NOT???

If Gene is forced out of Minardi, a few teams could do worse than to sign him up. Jaguar? Sauber? Prost?

I agree - I'd actually be very surprised if he wasn't signed up by Sauber or Prost.
