Andrew Jones, 28th 2005. Admittedly Mr Rogers punted him towards the back end of the season.

Cars stacking in pit lane caused that. Watching the highlights on Bigpond Frosty actually came out behind them just before they clashed. Slade was stacked waiting for Reynolds and as a result slowed one of the JD cars and Murph who then slowed Reindler who was waiting to pit. With no room to move Fab's tried to 2 wheel it past. http://www.v8supercars.com.au/multim...4/default.aspx |

Agree with pit lane comments, pretty poor display. Good on-track action at least! |

I'm watching the replay on 7 right now. I'm comparing the 7 coverage now to when 7 had it before '97, taking into account that 7/VESA have an out by saying it's live on 7mate. This is in Victoria by the way. Both coverages were a late-night delayed telecast, because of the footy.
IIRC, back then, 7 would show the dash, a support race (typically fford), heat 1 (full), another support race (not fford), heat 2 (full), presentation and then, maybe, a colour piece at the end. This was a 2 hour program. Now, its just one edited heat, no support races and a program scheduled to be less than 1 hour long! Which do you think is the better option? Back then, 7 had the rights to the ATCC for free, the package comes with Bathurst. Nowadays, how much do they pay for the rights? So, to those of us who like to stick it to Cochrane and the whole V8SC community for the way they go about their business. Should we be thankful for the "increased" publicity that they've bought to Australian motorsport (whatever it is) and Australian entertainment industries, or should we be thankful that digital technology has developed so that the media industry allows us to have more than 5 free-to-air, 3 commercial, tv channels, that give VESA an out? |

It does, but shouldn't.
This was the point I was making, so I agree. |

Surely it's time to close pit lane when the safety car comes out??

Knock double-stacking on the head. Ban two cars from the one garage being in the pitlane at the same time. Pretty easy to police, really. Just monitor when the pitlane speed-limiter has been activated/deactivated. If two cars from the one garage are using the limiter at the same time, ping them.
Might promote more racing on the actual track itself. In yesterday's race, I think there were only one or two cars still out on the track racing, while the rest of the field were tripping over themselves in the pits, during that first round of stops. Great spectacle if you're viewing from pit straight, or the corporate facilities upstairs... |

So going by his experiences, if Premat gets dropped from GRM later in the year and ends up at another team, he'll be series champion in a few years time?
Premat needs time to learn the car, its soooo much different from anything else he's raced. Question is-does Garry have enough patience?........hmmmm.. |

I saw the edited fford races at PI earlier this afternoon. I cannot believe for an Aus National fford series, that there was barely a dozen starters! If that's the case we, as an Australian motorsport community, have completly lost the plot!

There was some speil on Speedcafe about it the other day.
Mick Ritter from Sonic reckons it's a combination of peole lacking the cash and testicles required to make the leap from state level to national level at the moment. I wonder how many current-spec cars are buzzing around in state level competition? Perhaps the money involved in getting on the V8SC roadshow is a tad too prohibitive. |

It's no better up here at the moment. I think it's more a case of FFord has lost the plot.

I've heard teams want $200,000 for a season. For what is supposed to be "entry level" motorsport, that is why you have 12 entries.

I'm going to ask out Cindy Crawford. Taking into account I've never driven one. But, seeing them live at state rounds and noticing their lap times are 4 seconds off a V8Supercars at Phillip Island, of all places. I cannot see what is so "entry level" about them. |

in Australia traditionally FF is considered the next step after Karts, after which you make your decision, as long as you have the $$ to take the next step, of going down the tin top path, or the open wheeler path, with a possible jaunt to Europe. So it is in theory the entry level to bigger games (notwithstanding superkarts etc that do full tracks), and eventually main game, whatever that may be |
