Fiat 1100E Zagato (Pierpaolo Poillucci)

Hello all-
We are restoring a 1952 Fiat 1100E Zagato which was raced in period by Elio Zagato and Pierpaolo Poillucci and I'm looking for any information on this car and/or driver. The chassis number (Fiat) is 365918. I will try to post some pictures.
Thanks,
Anton in Los Angeles

Welcome, Anton.

I think that you might get to a larger audience if I put it into the History forum. I've also amended the title in order to indicate more about the subject matter. Hope that is in order.

Pictures would be good. If you cannot load them, PM me and I'll sort something out.

You could try the Martin Krejci site "World Sports Racing Prototypes" - all sorts of info here, you may be on it for hours...

Good suggestion nicanary.

I had a quik look at the lists for non-championship races in 1952, (for example) and the car model crops up quite a lot (in Italian based races of course) along with Zagato as a driver. Not sure about Poillucci but very a very similar name appears once or twice.

As an aside - I had never really become aware that the Mille Miglia could have over 500 starters but it seems it did. Amazing what information can be found on RSC.

A thousand miles is a long way when there's only one lap!

True but considering that it was 1952 numer of entries seemed quite high. That said half the field failed to finish and a similar number were probably Fiat 500s ... but nonetheless, rather impressive even if it meant there was only one car every 2 miles. (Or something like that.)
