You need to grow up. There is no 'denial'. Look at their average lap times. Not their fastest lap times.

So even if Audi runs 3:26s consistently they will easily win this, technical issues aside. You can tweak the numbers all you want, the gap stays around 3 seconds...which is way too much for Toyota to challenge them on fuel. They just don't have the speed. I don't understand your mindset, all you do is set yourself up for disappointment by hoping that some miracle will happen on Saturday. Toyota won't be able to win this on their own power.. nothing we have seen this week is anywhere close to suggesting that. |

Anyone remember this from Wedding Crashers?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VR3cCxT3nw They keep getting BoP'd and they keep going the same speed. Make you wonder how much more sand they have in the car. This is the problem with waivers and BoP. I'm sticking with my previous comments...someone at AMR has some pictures of ACO/FIA officials in Nazi regalia or something similar? |

Nothing is impossible at Le Mans, and yeah, right now the odds are stacked against Toyota, but I get the impression that they will be more competitive in the race than they are in qualifying, just as last year. |

They're holding all the advantages...speed, strategy, reliability, car-count, rain performance... the one thing Toyota has is fuel consumption, not much if your competitor has you swiftly covered in all other areas. |

2008 the R10s were at least 2 seconds a lap slower then the three leading Pugs.. yest they still came away with a win... This is still very much a race.
I also still dont think we've seen Toyota's hand. *EDIT* Crap! I had that typed out 1 minutes ago and got a phone call... |

I'm afraid the other interpretation for that is that Audi won even with a car that was 3 seconds slower than the competition. And now they've got one that's 4 seconds faster .

GT is looking pretty brutal, Aston Martin 1-2-5 in GT Pro with only the AF Corse Ferrari and the Porsche breaking them up. The #95 Am Aston Martin is faster than both the Corvettes! And Vipers are nowhere near the top either. Even the fastest Am-Porsche is a second slower than the #95. It looks like the Aston Martins' weight increase did absolutely nothing.

I remember heading AF Corse guys complaining that 'this is not their track' due to lack of straight line speed. But they are comfortable the fastest of all GT cars at 294+km/h. All the AMR cars for instance are below 289rm/h. Porsche 991 is quite fast too... and quick.

Brutal performance from those Aston Martins...Are we gonna see a race at all in GTE? Its looking like Diesel vs Petrol in GTE right now...Astons miles quicker than anything else in all parts of track. Quickest in sectors 1,2, and 3. It doesn't really make any kind of sense in terms of BOP. How can the car own all sectors? Normally we think Ferrari owns the Porsche curves, Vette's down the mulsannes but Aston has been dominant in all sectors.

Considering that Aston Martin was fast but not good enough for wins last year (only 1 win), I'm thinking development covered half of the gains and BOP the other half. The ACO would have reason to keep Aston Martin happy and in the WEC.

I think Corvettes lack of pace is on putting resources towards developing the C7
I have no idea whats wrong with the Vipers Could just be the FIA favoring WEC teams. If so, how lame |

The P2 Lotus was clocked at 307km/h only 3km/h short of the P1 Rebellion Lola Toyotas. What do you guys make of that? A P2 car at 307km/h. How fast would this car go if it had a P1 V8 engine it it ? Seems like alot of potential in this package. Or they have no downforce and hence little drag...

Conditions in qualifying seemed to be slower than last year because of the rain. The Audis were expected to be much more than 1 second faster than last year and LMP2s weren't expected to be slower. That might partly explain why the Toyota and Corvettes are slower than last year.

Problem with that is that between the track being resurfaced again in some areas and improvements being made to the cars and tires, you'd expect that those evolutions would at least keep them at the same speed.
But as mentioned, only Audi really significantly picked up over last year, but even that wasn't to the degree expected. They were 1.5 seconds faster than in Q last year, but it was thought that they'd go another 2-3 seconds faster than that. Other than that, everyone else either went slower than last year, or stayed about the same as last year. I'm thinking maybe a lack of track time as opposed to just the green track. |
