simon_blay should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Britcar 1000km Silverstone 21-22 September

Who's doing it? I've signed up for both days and just seen they are combining the formulas for a single 6 hours race on the Sunday. Great as it means a field of c.35 cars but does mean Saturday could be a very long day!!

I love Britcar, the 24hr has been my favorite event for the last 2 years. However, they've had it really hard this year, shame really.

Well I will miss working this year - having done all the previous since the first.

If Roy can think of a job for me to do, bearing in mind my current circumstances, then happy to take it on. But remember that one day's action requires at least one day's recovery!

I will miss Assembly - no way can I do that.

Hi Katrina - it will depend on where you are (Specialist or Track), how many people are on post, who you are with etc. There are many things to factor in.

I will see you there - Nina and I are both doing Sat and Sun. Nina is S/L and I will be on track somewhere.

The Porsche's are running two races on Sat - which looks good. Their third race is Sun morning.

Personally, I am not sure I completely trust the entry list. Does have a habit of changing at the last minute.

Anyhow - see you there Simon!

I'm on track too, don't mind if it's stay on post you get used to it. Then if you get an unexpected dinner break all the better! See you there

I will be there, but only on Saturday. A bit disappointed there is no Britcar race as originally planned, but still looking forward to it. The Thruxton race earlier this year was pretty good, and Silverstone (International track) equally so if somewhat wet to start with. I do like Britcar, it is still the only series where I have seen the organiser come and say hello to us during the race.

There are 25 cars entered in the 1000km (as per usual, you had to halve the number of entries listed on the original Britcar list...).

That's strange given 32 cars have qualified for the race. Plus there are 4/5 others in the garages which may run if they can fix them overnight.

That's good news, only 25 cars had "warmed up" earlier in the day...

Because it was raining and they didn't want to get wet i presume

32 cars started the race and 25 were officially classified although only 23 took the chequer.

It was a good weekend if a bit hectic due to a lack of numbers.

Glad you enjoyed it, I 'assume' you mean Marshal numbers? Good job it wasn't a 24 hour, eh?

Yes. 5 graded pit marshals. 2 assembly area marshals and 5/6 trainees. Made it a bit hectic

A very good day on Saturday at Vale (sorry I couldn't do the Sunday), and great to see a Caterham Academy driver share the fun. Now you know what it is like to see a car come towards you, rather than you go towards a wall...

Thanks people. Luckily no incidents to deal with, just the dressing of that HUGE oil slick after the Beemer went bang! Good teamwork by 3 posts & good communication from race control ensured that was dealt with efficiently.
