Wow, Konrad. I don't remember hearing Franz was coming this way. The Porsche America is only usable here, correct? Does this mean a season or at least the endurance series?

Horton Autosport = Park Place Motorsports, the entry was expected though maybe the name wasn't ESM ran the Ferrari in GA-GT for four races last Konrad Motorsport did Daytona last year. Interesting that they've been able to get a Porsche 911 America so quickly And also: #58 Snow Racing/Wright Motorsports/JDX Porsche 911 in GTD with Madison Snow and Jan Heylen as drivers |

re: Konrad - is Porsche loaning/renting the cars out to potential customers to test? Could a team rent or lease one from Porsche for the NAEC and is there a precedent for something like that happening in the past? I'm not too familiar with the business of how racecars are bought, owned, acquired, etc in terms of whether it can be more creative or elaborate than just a straight sale from manufacturer to a team. |

Perhaps a new name for Risi, due to a new sponsor? Or perhaps a partnership with Risi? |

Risi will be at Sebring testing. Not sure if full season and if it is GTD or GTLM though, will dig deeper... From a reliable source.

That was pretty much going to be, sort of, my next question.

I hope they're back in GTLM. Perhaps one of Ferrari's customers in Ferrari Corse Clienti is considering sponsoring Risi?

Re: Mazda and SpeedSource: Not only has SpeedSource been racing and winning with Mazdas for several years in Rolex, they did the development work on the 2.2-litwer, SkyActiv turbodiesel. They know the engine better than anyone else.
And what was such a failure about the GX program? One or the other of the cars won the last nine races, took the manufacturer's championship, and second and third in the driver's championship in its first year. if the Mazola oil-burner does that it will win the class overwhelmingly and go down as a huge success. Anyway, I like variety, and now it looks like we will have Chevys, Fords, HPDs, Nissans, and Mazda diesels in DP and P2 chassis. If the series can go easy with BoP, it could be a really interesting season. |

While he won the IMSA GT3 Cup, he didn’t have great results in GA or ALMS last season in his limited number of starts at that higher level. He’s got great potential but I doubt he’s considered by IMSA as a pro yet.

There’s nothing am or client-oriented about the listed driver line up: Olivier Beretta, Gianmaria Bruni, Giancarlo Fisichella, and Tony Vilander. |

mazda1---you think Mazda is going to build its own chassis? I don't see any reason to do that until the first third of 206 earliest, to be ready for 2017. Otherwise, why not stick with the Multimatic-Lola?
From the press release, it sounds more like they are interested in supplying the engine to client teams than building a new chassis which might well only have a couple years lifespan before being obsolete. Also ... no word I have heard that Multimatic will claim the Lola chassis as their own. "Multimatic Lola" maybe, but not just "Multimatic." Whatever, anyway. |

I believe Mazda1 was referring to the typical characteristics of a factory trying to short-cut building a chassis (see Lotus) and simply sponsor the car and call it their own. Remember that Morgan designed, built, and race their own chassis? Exactly...
Their engine wasn't powerful or reliable in GTX, let's hope it beats Libra first at the test, then we can start being optimistic. |
