German sticker shops must be delighted with the dramatic increase in sales of black-and-white spirals in recent months.

Looks like the R18 still .
But the rear arches holes, are still on the top of the fender. Different to the new Porsche LMP1, where they are located on the inside. |

Thought I saw something funny with the front fender and so it is. Looks like they expose a lot more of the tire to the rear. Last edited by NelisB; 2 Dec 2013 at 20:58. |

My first impression is that it's uglier.:'( Probably as the regulations required, they installed the higher cockpit, which is hideous. The rear wing design looks like original R15 I guess.

I think the front end wil be a bit different because they are allowed to have wingshaped profiles at the front.

From what I can tell in the screen caps, the car (in the low HQ shots--remember, we won't see the thing "for real" until Dec. 18th) looks like a heavily cut and chopped 2013 R18 modified to suit the '14 rules--clear proof that these guys can't unlearn years of evolution.
Also of note is the double dive planes up front--something not seen on an Audi LMP since Le Mans practice in 2011. Sign that the post '13 cars are supposed to be more powerful, or is there more reliance on things like dive planes and rear wing flaps as a result of proposed changes that discourage teams from developing the special front and rear clips that Audi and Toyota have run at Le Mans and in sprint trim? |

The new cars are disproportioned imo, taller and narrower does not look better to me. The only way around a higher cockpit would be to have the raised section a part of the air box. Thats what I was saying with the DOME cfd model.

The little CN(LMP3) cars now looks better than this. They are like miniature GT Prototypes

All we've seen is one very basic car in confusing livery and a screenshot of another in silhouette form. I can't say anything conclusive about next year's cars from that, myself.

You see the Lotus, you see the Porsche. Thats enough for me to know the tall roofline isn't as appealing. Theres way's around it like I said, but who knows if that direction is taken. It will be interesting to see the different aero philosophy of these new cars.

Just find out that radio le mans guys haven't upload the podcast of Dr. Ullrich yet. Has anyone listened to that radio interview?

Or are they just learning how to build a fast tractor in order not to be criticized by Alonso once more

Great video, looks like they were checking tire sizes. Maybe they haven't heard of the HPD ARX-02
