Red Kite Stages
What a weekend.
Saturday night the Barc Midland Dinner, a sharp exit before the Guest Speaker started - sorry Mozzy, as we had to get up at 4-30am for the 3 hour trip to deepest darkest Wales, meeting up with Mike Grantham on the way. We were at Post 19 about a third of the way through Stages 2 & 5, halfway up a mountain on a tight hairpin which was brilliant for watching my beloved RS Escorts of which there were loads. The weather was what you'd expect -cold wet & windy and when our car refused to start halfway through the day I thought oh gosh, compounded when 5 minutes later Car 123 went missing between us and Post 20 and I was dispatched to find it, which resulted in a three quarter mile trek that a Mountain Goat would have baulked at! -eventually finding a car with an engine as dead as mine. At least the walk back was downhill. At the end of the day, Wyeroc Recovery did their good deed for the day and jump started us back into life, allowing us to get home 14 hours after leaving, happy and tired. Roll on the Wyedean in few weeks. |

And we sat in Mercia Rescue on the start of SS1/4 - Caio. Not too wet but pretty cold.
First event of the year - now for the Wyedean. Jim |

Well you might get an OD on the Malcolm Wilson as it looks like you will be dealing with 30 sec starts

Never get Mr Briggs and Mr Brice communicating!
To a lot of us it is just gobbledygook but it seems to make sense to them! |
