I see that Blendini Motorsport are to campaign a pair of 997 Cup cars in GT4 in 2014. £50K plus VAT per driver if you have got it! I expect that's an accurate figure as a mate of mine drove in GT4 this year for £60K all in. It will be interesting to see how they get on against the usual Ginetta G50s and it will be good to see something different in the class. |

For the Bentley entry, Happy to see it's a customer effort. Britsh GT doesn't need works teams who came and destroy the competition.

Im not saying that works teams make a championship, but they certainly don't destroy them either in my experince, providing they are kept in check when the need applies, and they do attract attention, I know that myself and friends of mine liked the fact that there were factory teams in British GT back in the day, nice to see top professional teams and drivers in any series. |

Surely BoP and the Pro-Am format stop anyone dominating the championship - works team or not.

A works team won the championship last year. Works team will always have an edge, development parts etc. They generally will have bigger budgets allow for extras (more testing, tyres, personal). Every works team will never want to be beaten by a customer team.
Not against works team in BGT at all just it is only an advantage. |

I'm not 100% up on the rules. I know Beechdean were an official customer team. They barely won the title in a razor-close fight.
They will have had a wealth of knowledge to tap into during the year, but what development parts can they run on a frozen spec GT3 car? |

Although correct that Beechdean won the championship the car is solely ran by Prodrive as is the Gaw (Prodrive MD) and Dryburgh car.
Again correct on the homologation of parts but I know first hand tweaks can be done without rehomologation needed. Easiest ones are remaps of the engine. Exhaust systems are actually very free in terms of redesign. |

Motorsport News also says today that ABG Motorsport will run a BMW M3 GT4 in the early part of this year in British GT before switching to a BMW 2 Series Coupe. I really hope that all these GT4 cars do come out to play, and it will be good to see different marques represented. |

The Gaw/Dryburgh PGF-Kinfaun and Poole/Abra MP Motorsport Astons both confirmed as returning.
The MP car has moved from Barwell Motorsport and will be run by Prodrive alongside the Kinfaun and Beechdean cars, and according to John Gaw in Autosport, there could be more 'factory-run' Astons to come in both GT3 and GT4... According to the British GT website and Twitter, we're up to 25 cars confirmed so far, and more announcements to come http://www.britishgt.com/newsitem.php?key=1940 http://www.britishgt.com/newsitem.php?key=1939 |

good to see a porsche back, their ranks are really thinning whilst they keep staying silent on the subject of a 991 GT3 - really about time they got around to that...

Oulton almost certainly, it's my usual "first weekend of the year", although may well be third this year.
Undecided about the Milton Keynes Concrete Jungle WEC round as yet. |

I'll probably be at Oulton for the Saturday and Monday with Sunday being reserved for WEC, though I could decide to do ELMS on Saturday and camp for the WEC and just do the Monday. Oulton is my traditional season opener and has been for a very long time now, think this year is the 14th year for me (missed 2006 due to a skiing holiday in Austria, can't have it all.) Looking back all that way things have changed an awful lot, cars may not be a patch on the Lister Storm's, Viper's, Saleen's but the series is in the best shape it has ever been in. Long may it continue.
