And with decent drivers it can be up front in class, Ho pin Tung is not a world beater but ok.

Personally, I am very, very curious and excited about the new Ligier. I can't wait to see it have a go at the track that it's build for. They might be able to surprise us...
I mean, they must've put quite some mileage on this new car, in the mean time? |

I hoped this would happen - Jann Mardenborough and Mark Shulzhitsky announced in the #35 Ligier Oak alongside Alex Brundle.
http://www.dailysportscar.com/?p=29831 That would be the de-facto Nissan backed LMP2 car. A very exciting entry and a great opportunity for those guys - especially considering what's coming next year. Congrats and also fair play to Nissan for developing and then backing the GT Academy guys. |

yeah, i think in some quarters of the internet there's a tendency to look for a way to criticise nissan for something, anything to do with the gt academy concept. in the real world, there's a couple of guys who are very good who wouldn't be competing at anywhere near the level they are now without nissan's backing.

Inevitable giant NISSAN stickers coming up, likely covering most of the car...
#35 was listed as Oak "Morgan" Pescarolo before - and still is on the entry list - so they have switched the chassis to the new coupe. Meaning there will be 3 of those "Ligiers" this year (2x Oak + TDS)? |

Is it even possible to change chassis?

I think whoever's job it is to keep the public-facing entry lists spick and span isn't the best person to rely on for info. It's been confirmed for quite a while there will be 3 Ligier's in the race.
Fair enough Nissan will brand up the car - but it goes a long way to showing that P2 does hold the potential for works involvement despite the pro-am formula. No need for it to be all pros if you play the game with the line-ups. |

Really? I do think this was the first time (?) it was officially announced, I remember reading past Oak press releases and they kept mentioning the old open top car (=USCC entrant) and maybe adding third coupe.

I think the P1 programme will have G-Drive branding and you have to think that having a Russian driver like Shulzhitsky can't hurt either.

berthon confirmed with murphy for imola and le mans:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/113941 hopefully for the team his pace at paul ricard wasn't just a sponsor run. that's one heck of a quick driver line-up. (though having said that, dsc seem to think that kapadia is doing imola in the same seat...) |

Federico Leo completes Pro car for RAM Racing - http://www.dailysportscar.com/?p=30083
Would have preferred James Rossiter but good luck to the team. |

That's just a testing livery, they haven't even painted over the metal on the splitter.

With G-Drive involved I would imagine it will be black and orange like the WEC entry. Nissan will probably take up the sidepods with G-Drive written on the BHF. Similar to signatech when they took on Ordonez in 2011 but with the added orange.

Something about the pit arrangements--it always seems that Audi have close to the last pits prior to the new garages, while Peugeot and more recently Toyota have opted for the area of the pits closest to pit in.

That looks like foil tape of some type all over the car. This is also the higher downforce bodywork for sprint races (larger twin dive planes, and what appears to be taped over louvers on the inner face of the front fenders).

As far as I'm aware, every time Audi had a factory car (since and including 1999) they were in those pits. Peugeot were in the middle of the pitlane in 2007 and 2008 though, the first garages were Pescarolo for a long long time.

I'm going by way of the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans Wikipedia page, where there are 18 open seats remaining. But quite a few of those are more or less confirmed.
#29 Pegasus Racing: last seat should be Jonathan Coleman given he will have driven the opening two ELMS rounds for the team after Imola. #33 OAK Team Asia: should be Cong Fu Cheng... massively experienced Chinese driver for what apparently will be an all-Chinese lineup. Adderly Fong is also in the back of my mind. #41 Greaves: Matt McMurry more or less confirmed #42 Greaves: hard to pick. Me thinks Munemann, Latif, and Christian Zugel. #58 Sofrev: Pons and Ayari #60 AF Corse: Raffaele Gianmaria and Lorenzo Case, by virtue of the 6hrs of Spa #61 AF Corse: Cioci and Venturi #62 AF Corse: Blank and Bachelier #72 SMP: no idea #98 AMR: Lamy and Nygaard |
