Sounds like a bit of a grey area though.
The piece they believe they ran over was a bracket that broke off the pit boom. I'm not sure the rules imply that this is included in equipment that they have control over per se, such as rattle guns, wheels, wheel nuts, air spikes (re: GRM), fuel hoses, etc. Interested to see if V8SC's Damien White decides to make clarification of this in the coming days. |

Not a Frosty fan but I totally agree with him on this one. Good on him. |

Yep, another let off, another inconsistency.
No big deal either, Whincups race was ruined by fuel, then the puncture, so do the right thing and penalise. They were quick to hit Premat with a second drive thru. And the small contact by Perkins at Bathurst last year in pit lane totally wrecked their result. Very harsh for some. |

Looking at the replay of Whincup's stop it looks more like the wheelnut itself that they ran over.
Murph was dragging the cameraman across to get a better shot of the chaos and the "nut" gets churned out by the right rear and almost hits Murph on the leg. So was it a hook or a wheelnut? (Just curious and have no axe to grind - just wonder how a captive wheelnut can become UN-captive???) |

The wheel nuts are only semi-captive. They're retained in the wheel by fingers machined into the nut, that flex to allow installation and removal.

It does look like it, and a close up still makes me think it is, though with a hook or wire protruding out from its centre which made the hole(s) in the rear tyre. Murf needs to get his big head out the way next time he calls a cameraman over |

Inspired by a few other Ford fans I have created this gofundme campaign to raise the amount of money Frosty was fined for his celebratory burnout on Sunday.
Its only $3000. gofundme.com/cz4cc979 GTR, if this post goes against any forum rules I apologise and understand if it needs deleting. |

He's also 43 years old. The game has moved on a bit and it's dominated by younger men these days. Lowndes is 41 and T8 is looking at succession planning for when he decides to retire.
