Bob, they are different cars. The 1950 car was indeed no 14, and was driven to 4th by Tony Rolt & Duncan Hamilton. The one we are talking about was built in haste just prior to the 1952 event, as their intended entry built as a coupe was written off by Donald Healey in the 1952 Mille Miglia. It carried the no 10 and finished 3rd.

That is a really nice early XK120 owned by Roger Woodbridge who I must try to persuade to join FISCAR since it seems to comply with our regs.

Is it just my browser that shows Peter's pictures as enormous?

The pictures are supposed to be from 2016, so assuming the snap of Mrs Delta is valid, one can only take it that she was a child bride. A very pretty one if I may so observe.

Here's a few from me from thru the year, the R90CK, XJR-14 and M8F all from the Silverstone Classic. The lotus 91-5 is from Brands Hatch Masters and the GT40 & JS17 is from Donington Park Masters.

Now we're talking! None of this funny 50s and 60s stuff! Nothing like the cars from the last quarter (ish!) of the century to stir the blood. Terrific pictures.

Speak for yourself, Max, and just for that something even older. Simon Diffey in a prewar Aston Martin Ulster, who drove an absolute blinder in the wet Jon Gross Memorial Trophy/Mort Goodall Cup at the Castle Combe Autumn Classic:-

But then Simon usually does drive a blinder in almost anything he gets into, and he certainly does conduct a wide variety of historics. |

Actually I love the pre-War stuff. It's the 50s/early 60s I'm not so keen on. I know, hang my head in shame and leave these pages never to return.
BTW before anyone notices, my MGs were always late 60s/early 70s cars! I preferred them to the Frogeyes. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk |

Anyone who drives an Escort is seriously lacking in the finer points of aesthetics. I suppose being from Norfolk does give one a somewhat agricultural view of machinery. |
