[Mike, do you know the difference between a red flag and la moooletta? In one case you must stop. In the other you've better run fast !

Contact was lost after SC but the SLR is now faster than the 911. Traffic issues for the Morgan. probably some oil on the track too.
Pit window now open. SLR in the pits change driver. Last edited by Gerard C; 1 Apr 2017 at 16:32. |

Best lap of the SLR established when 5' remaining (2'00"714)! Assuming the 904 got a 2' minute penalty I would say in the category: #1 Smith 911 (12 overall), #2 Kohler 911 (13 overall) and the SLR # 3rd (15 overall).
So Mike, how was it? |

Exactly that! There is a bit of a mystery on how your mate made up so much time in the pit stop, though.... 😁

Mike, from the computer point of view it was obvious. He stopped one lap later than you, did he? If you're sure you didn't lose time during the driver change, then he has been faster. When we raced the Corvette, I use to manage the full time allowed for the stop - pit lane theatrical time + & minute - but now they carefully watch this kind of thing… Damien's car has always been the best in France, compliant and reliable. Marc de Siebenthal does his engine, probably around 210 hp.
What happened to the 356 family? They went in the pits and never went out. |

I'll let Will tell you the story of their race in the 356.
Yes, I understand the pit stop time, but will check data from the results to see where the time was gained. The car in question almost caught up the class winning 911 during the stops (as well as gain on us), having been quite a way behind...... Our final position was P14 as another car in front had a penalty added. |

Well that did not go quite as intended!
Made a good start, but early on we started having rev counter issues, with it stuck reading 10k rpm!!, then started having brake issues, and just to put the icing on the cake, I missed a gear and buzzed the engine...although still pulling, the engine note changed and I was not comfortable continuing so came into the pits. Better safe than sorry! Well done to the SLR crew, an excellent result! Now a bit of work to do before Spa! |

Yes Mike, may be Damien played on of tricks he learned from some French bad boys … Seen from the soooo comfortable but not enjoyable computer screen : before SC you are door to door, right? At the restart are you sure you driver have been agressive/ concentrated enough? I would say the final gap between Kholer's Porker and you could be divided in 2 parts, restart management and what happened in the pits.
At Spa, if you use the old pitlane - also said F 3000 une fois - and consider that pit-marshaling is sometimes "funny" may be you can plan several strategies… Will, is this sentence of your own or did you hear it before? Did you read 10K "before" missing a gear or "after"? Anyway you've been fast again. I dont know what kind of device you use but I a had several issues with the combination Stack/ Omex. One leading to a blown engine |

Scemama, Brown, Gill race stopped probably before the 1 hour mark, so Capri 2600 Rs and 2 Escort's. Dont know why a Batmobile can't be faster than that.

I watched the second half of Touring Cars form the pitwall. Sadly the Pinepac Mustang blew its engine during free testing, and the Wooding Escort threw a cam belt in Q. There was a Capri non starter as well.
The Boissy Escort obviously had an early problem costing many laps, but was matching the leaders times in the latter half. It did start to sound a bit sick at the end though. The winning Capri was far enough ahead to be able to cruise the last couple of laps, while Ben Gill closed in on Sean Brown until the latter matched him for the last few laps. The GpA brick (Volvo) came 4th. Lot of fast cars missing for this meeting. No Steve Dance 2600RS or Cologne Capris, and no Rovers! I think Steve is building a 'full spec' GA engined car at the moment, so that may explain his absence. All the fast CSLs seem to have vanished from the series- at one time they were the car to have, so no idea why now out of favour...... |
