Good luck to Glickenhaus on making 25 cars to race in GTE. Then again, he won't win any races against the likes of Ford, Porsche, Ferrari, etc.

Considering we should expect pole time in the 3:52, the whole grid in GTE Pro didn't try very hard to show their pace. |

That's what you get for not taking part in the rest of the championship (no reference for the ACO) and by being fastest in the speed trap on test day.

It is the same car as last year, so they should have quite a bit of data. In fact that can be said about all the cars except the Porsche

50 years from now on and Larbre will be still be looking at fielding a GTE-Pro entry in the WEC...
I believe many would like to finally see more cars in GTE Pro, but will this ever materialize is the question. |

I admire his drive and persistence. Hopefully it pays off next year. They nearly came close this year with the Taylor brothers until something happened last minute-$$ Im guessing. This years art car is a good step to keep the team in the spotlight, that cars gotten more press then the rest of the field and for good reason. Nice to see Doug Fehan at Larbres media presentation earlier this week. |

http://tentenths.com/forum/attachmen...3&d=1479378316 with the Ford GT the problem is the car start to race before the street car is available, but the car is legal now. That is the same case as Glickenhaus, but surely James does not have the power of Ford to pressure the ACO. |

I'm sure all manufacturers would put pressure on the ACO not to allow the SCG in...

I'm not entirely sure that graphic and the 2500 examples thing is correct.
Location : As original. Position : Free. Orientation : Free, but the engine must remain longitudinal (or transverse) if originally longitudinal (or transverse). Local modifications are permitted for : – the replacement and/or the moving of the engine supports – the addition of mountings for new engine supports Location I believe is defined as the centre lines of the car. So as long as it's still behind that, it can be freely positioned. BMW and Corvette would have to move the engine behind the centre line, so that wouldn't be allowed. I used to have a good link explaining this but can't find it now. Edit: Page 9 - https://www.fia.com/file/51741/downl...token=Y5vP01g2 |

So interestingly Aston Martin won the BoP lottery this year. Their car had the best pace on average. So it's pretty much a dice roll for the win now.

If you get the BoP right, which it appears they broadly did this year, then what's the point in having a fancy new GT car like Ford? The only advantage is if you can fool the BoPpers and then unleash. If their not fooled save your money. Well done Aston.

But you're pretty spot on with BoP racing. The whole point in GT3 is you could pick up an old car and go and race it because it's balanced. It hasn't really worked out like that, as the cars have gotten faster and faster and more expensive. The BoP isn't bringing the new cars down to the old cars speed. The original idea was that one driver was going to have them balanced too (Heinz Harold Frentzen!), but that was dropped and isn't really possible on a scale of this size. Whether we like it or not, GTE is now a BoP class. And given that all the cars were within 1 lap of the GTE leader (Porsche and Ferrari only got overtaken by the 919 on the last lap, but they were within 1 lap of the Aston), the BoP was spot on. Nobody had a bad BoP. They all were within touching distance. |

If we're having BoP then I hope it is a sign of things to come and the BoPpers are getting better at their job.

The BoP from now on is automated. Le Mans was the last race of a manually adjusted BoP. From now on an algorithm will pump out the numbers to make each track equal. We'll see if that works.
