In 26 starts he's managed one win in a Red Bull. That's 3.8%. Mark Webber achieved 7.0%, over twice Max's strike rate.
And Dani Ric. barely beats him. He's more famous for drinking out of his shoe than winning races. That says it all. |

Yeah, true enough, but there are many out there (me included) who believe that Max may really have star quality, if he has the chance to show it. He also potentially has a lot of years ahead of him to prove it.

This is true, but Ralf has retired now so there is no point in comparing.

Ralf didn't complain as much as the Brit that's for sure.

It's just no one was listening.
If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? |

For what it's worth, Ricciardo looks a lot like a former colleague of mine.

Ricciardo's shoey just adds a bit of colour to the sport. Don't judge by that, he's a happy go lucky, yet serious driver, who's raised his game since Max joined. Both are bringing the best out of each other

Can't wait until Verstappen gets some reliablity;he'll give that sweat gurgling Aussie a darn, good wallopin', rest assured. |

To be clear, I am joining in the spirit of the thread and not saying anything serious or relevant. As I was being so stupid I figured I didn't need a . That seems to be the approach used by others, well a couple of others. |

Now if he did that, he would certainly be more famous for drinking out of his shoes than for winning races. I doubt he would be winning any races at all. |

Unless you believe the urban legend about Duncan Hamilton and Tony Rolt at the 1953 Le Mans.

That actually explains it. I can't understand why I didn't see it before. FAS33 has been taken over by his keyboard. He's been locked in an understairs cupboard while his keyboard calls his sanity into question at every available opportunity. Quick, someone must act to save the poor member from such an ignominious fate! |

There we are then. The truth is out. Can a mod please move this thread from non-fiction to fiction please? Third shelf down, corridor 12, there's a gap next to the 'Famous Five' collection......

This thread died a long time ago and descended into the catcalling of frotting fanboys. I vote we close it. Mods?

Going to have to say that it was pretty close this weekend. Danny had the failure for qualifying and had to fight back - and was that impressive. However, Max and his battle with Vettel was superb stuff.
A draw overall? |

I think it should be left open. We have various driver comparison threads and we just need a race without problems for either Daniel or Max and we can have a bit more debate. Good to see both drivers hvs strong performances this weekend, though. Max showed he's not out of practice with the wheel-to-wheel stuff.
In the meantime, regulations - how about replacing stop and go penalties with stop, drink out of one of Ricciardo's shoes and go penalties? Now that would really be a deterrent. |

Max must be happy that for once his team mate had the bad luck this weekend, even if Ricciardo still finished in the points
