I wouldn't mind 4 factory liveried Porsches if the livery wasn't made by a failed art student making concept art. Porsche need to hire a designer who has seen a race car in action before and start designing for the track, rather than promotional material.

Or maybe invert the liveries like CGR used to do with their Grand Ams. Have the European cars with one livery and the US cars with another.

Uhh..the factory livery for Porsche going back to 2017, including the 919 that year is pretty darn good. The one before that from 2014-2016 was garbage though. This one is simpler that does not try to write out a word, and represents the shape of the Porsche logo. Also like the distinguished shape of Porsche cars. I've gotten used to all of the GT factory liveries now. Accept for Aston Martin, they should have stuck with the green or the gulf colors. Not into that daglow yellow.

The rothmans and the pig looked good at le mans the others were dreadful. IMHO

The pink one was memorable (probably the only thing I remember about GTE from last year) but other than that and the 2015 919 LM oneoffs, they've been pretty boring and sterile

I personally think the 2017 onward factory livery is garbage lol. "represents the shape of the Porsche logo" is the issue - it doesn't look like it, except in very specific press shots. Designed around concept art, rather than something good for a circuit car, traveling at 150mph. They should hire Andy Blackmore - he'll get it sorted.

Looking forward to seeing the Keating car.

If the entries are getting 80 applicants for 60 slots, is it possible to have a support race for the entries which don't make it? Drop the Ferrari/Porsche challenge stuff, drop the historics. Take some of the LMP3s from the Road to Le Mans race. Put LMP2, LMP3 and whatever GTE/GT3s you have for a 2 hour race on Le Mans morning.

I guess for some it is 24 hours or nothing (funding, or care factor), but it could be a goer.

Astons would be a little more interesting if they managed to few of the Lolas back like that one year, and run the old DBR9s with pros in-house, instead of the amateur collectors slowly cruising them themselves

The problem is that most of the field consists of boring GT4s

Yeah I think the first year the Festival was held, I didn't look at all who the drivers were, and wondered why some of the GT2 and GT3 cars made the GT1s look like GT4s in comparison... lol

Last year they had those special Vulcans, but it seemed a bit like marketing exercise to have them dominating the homologated cars

It's Ferrari Challenge Europe this year again, per the 3 year rotation between Ferrari-Porsche-AMR. So Festival should be 2021 after Porsche Cup in 2020...
