Indeed, exciting times ahead. No reason why the seat shouldn’t go to someone on merit. This is the great thing about the series, loads of top quality drivers, where the rewards are massive. Can’t wait to see who gets that seat

What do you think eh? I think it will be a good move for them. Especially Cooper. No dobut IMSA will be generous in the BoP.

It would be good to see that happen. Ferrari have done well out of GT racing, so would be great for both them and the series if they gave IMSA a try

Well this should go over well for GTLM in 2021, BMW to possibly only enduros for 2021.

2. No worries Corvette racing team. You got the LMP3 cars to race against! 3. 2021 is most certainly the last year of GTLM. I'm sure the Corvette C8's will get grandfathered into the next GT pro based category that will come after. But it was a great run. The category will certainly be remembered as one of the greatest memories of the 2010's decade when we are all old men and looking back at retrospectives years from now. From 2011 ALMS season through the 2020 Daytona 24 hours. It was top to bottom pound for pound the best sportscar class on Earth. I highly recommend everyone to watch replays of all of the races at VIR and Lime Rock for the past few years. All great events. |

Action Express appears to be leading seat for a Nascar retiree and the champion for the 24 Hour in 2021.

"Sportscar365 understands the planned ‘all-star’ effort would be in a Cadillac DPi-V.R fielded by Action Express Racing. It would come alongside the team’s returning full-season Cadillac DPi of Pipo Derani and Felipe Nasr in the top prototype class." |

Yeah, you have to assume between the 2 of them there’s no shortage of a one-off race sponsor interest. And GM cash to fill in what’s needed. I’m thinking Action Express will try to leverage being on the car for some full season funding, or at least endurance races even if Chase and Jimmie can’t run them.

Helio for Shank racing in Indycar for 6 races. I got the feeling Helio will be in fo the Shank Acura as the endurance driver too. My guess it is Dane Cameron and Oliver Pla for full season. Helio for NAEC. AJ Allmendinger for Daytona. |

A team of Chase Elliott, Simon Pagenaud, and Jimmie Johnson in a Cadillac DPI is no joke. They will certainly be contenders for the win for the Daytona 24. Maybe they will be car #9. Action Express has used that number before. That is Chase's # too. But I think Pfaff Porsche has that number right now.

Yeah, a good mix of drivers in that car from different backgrounds and I am sure the car will do the job too. I would not bet against them being up there again. Whatever happens, they are sure to be a real threat. And with Chase fresh off winning NASCAR, he's bound to be eager for more success. But not forgetting there should be plenty of other competitors up there to make the race another exciting one

Well the long rumored Ganassi return to IMSA looks closer, willing to trust MP reporting they're close to fielding a Caddy DPi for 2021. No mention of drivers, sponsors or anything.

You have to think he would be the front runner for it. Assuming the drivers aren't expected to be the source of the program money

Kind of a silly article
https://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/l...formance-tech/ If TV time is what they want, LMP3 won't be much better. Why does Performance Tech after all of these years never consider GTD? |

LMP3 color code is going to be.....orange?? What the heck. Strange choice. Purple I thought for sure would be it. I always hoped IMSA Weathertech series would line up the class color codes to what WEC had. ALMS did that. But IMSA feels like they want to go MGTOW when it comes to this.
