Predictions: Worst Team of 2003?
I know it's a bit early, but who do you think will be the worst team of 2003? The mid-field and backmarkers are getting ever more competitive and there are big names and engines in all the cars.
Minardi Sauber BAR Jordan Jaguar Toyota Renault |

With all the shake-ups and broken eggshells I fear it'll be the leaning cat.

I voted for Jordan, but I think it will be a close battle behind the top 4 (Ferrari, McLaren, Williams and Renault, in this order )

The Jags and Minardis will be fighting to avoid the last row of the grid. I think I'll vote for Jag, but this is all obviously speculation at this stage.

So far the vote looks right to me. Jordon to edge out Jordan and Minardi in a tight race for the honors. BAR has just got to do something next year or else close it down.

It's sad when there are so few teams Jordan is expected to finish last or there abouts.

Sadly, I don't expect much from Minardi in 2003. Ever since they lost Brunner their performances have been, to say the least, poor. Brunner had some input on the 2002 car, but unless they have a fantastic evolution for 2003, then I think the Minardi will really struggle for pace.
But I still hope they won't! Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but I don't see how they can shoot up the grid without a hot-shot designer. |

Thats quite a hard poll you have there.
Minardi: Inevitably, they will have a not very competitive car, but that is expected with a budget of theirs. But will have Cosworth Sauber: 4th in 2001, 5th in 2002, i just hope there is no pattern of loss of performance, but with HHF, they look safe. Much spoken about Ferrari rear end, with engine. BAR: Poor year this year, but next year they will concentrate on the races more, driver change might shake them up a bit, as OP was a great development driver. Exclusive Honda engines. Jordan: In economic problems, so drivers not known. Will probably have Cosworth engines. Jaguar: In bad bad times, but new bloody in the for of MW and AP will most probably help the development, good engines, and will have Guenther Steiner new to the team. But if testing is a sign, they may throw up surprises. Renault: On steady improvement, big budget, good drivers, good car, presumably. Toyota: They finished last this year, but in their first year that was not far from expected. New drivers, OP - will help. CDM - Might loose them some cars, but might suprise. Car didnt have much time with current designer, who showed up late and had a hard job (Gustav Brunner) Bottom line: Minardi. Sudden dissapointment of the year: Jordan. :'( Tom. |
